SIA Challenge Day 5...I've not fallen!

Tuesday, February 22, 2011

Lacking a couple days blogs here compliments of a busy extended weekend but, for those following along, I've not fallen off the challenge!

Even with all the thought I put into this, there are things I'm noticing already that need adjusting!

First...10 seconds, between ST during circuits, is just not long enough to transition from exercise to exercise AND have the time to record the number of reps completed during the minute! The time needed differs a bit depending on the ST being done, so I'm still trying to find a "time balance" that keeps me moving swiftly from one to the next, but not rushed and lacking form to beat the buzzer!

Second...Weekends themselves are tough to keep weekly routine going with family home, and this weekend probably wasn't the best to judge upon since we had SO much going on, but I can see that there needs to be some adjusting done! The object of this was to motivate myself and yet Sunday I felt sort of unaccomplished because things didn't go as I'd hoped! Need to put some thought into how to deal with this since it's really all about progress not perfection!

Third...I can see that my "habit" of drinking water has slowly faded! Again, a busy weekend isn't the best to base this on, but if I'm taking the NO excuses approach then in all reality there's no reason I shouldn't have been prepared, with water in tow, when I knew we were going to be away! It's a simple thing that I, several months ago, would have made sure of!

Last...I had originally planned to change up ST exercises as the weeks progress, but decided to stick with the same and focus on reps completed during the minute from week to week instead! Since this plan is easy to modify and repeat, I'll change them up during my next 30 day challenge!

So I'm working on finding some balance and fixing these things in the coming week!

Today is an easy cardio day and working the core, here's my plan....

Cardio: 30 minutes Stationary Bike with program Ride in Park Level 1
Circuit: 28:30 Core w/Stepper...4 Exercises, 3 Sets...4:00 Step, 4:30 ST, 3:30 Step, 4:30 ST, 3:30 Step, 4:30 ST, 4:00 Step
1:00 Lying Straight Leg Raises
:10 Recovery
1:00 Modified Plank
:10 Recovery
1:00 Crunches with Twist
:10 Recovery
1:00 Back Extensions

Nice workout plan! Do you keep a record of how many you can do in a minute to track your improvement?
