After almost 5 weeks of sticking to my low-carb program and fitness plan I am now seeing - and feeling- the results. 5.6kgs (12.3lb) down. emoticon I had some very discouraging days where I did not know whether all this effort was worth it. I am feeling so motivated today - as if I can actually feel the spark! I am so grateful to sparkpeople for helping me through this. I am on my last 2 days of the free trial for sparkcoach. I am signing up for sure! It has helped me so much.
I still have a long way to go but I just know I can do this. I am going to work on making my own vision collage today.

    Congratulations on a great weightloss. Yes there are ups and down times when trying to get healthy and lose the weight. It is well worth it as we start to melt away pound after pound to a thinner us. Keep up the great work!

Fitness goals for the week

My fitness goals for the week is to burn at least 1500kcal and 150 workout minutes.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday - Interval training on the treadmill. Tuesday & Thursday - Kettlebells.

So I eventually got my results. Cholesterol and thyroid function is normal but I am insulin resistant. I am busy reading up on insulin resistance to see how I can improve my health. The doc told me to get lots of exercise as that will speed up my sluggish metabolism. He has also prescribed Glucophage.
It makes me mad AND sad to think that this illness is self inflicted. If I looked after myself and my health this would not be an issue.
Anyway, I am trying my best to live better now. Rather late than never...

What a day!

So today did not start off very well. I got on the scale and hardly lost anything this past week. Even the tape measure is not budging. I really expected better results after the good week I had. Stopped by the doctors rooms this afternoon to see what he says about my lack of progress over the past 3 weeks. He can totally understand my frustration. I need to go in tomorrow morning first thing for blood tests. He wants to test my insulin levels and thyroid.
So, what is the first thing I do when feeling blue about my weight? You guessed it! I ate a chocolate! A BIG one! At least I am sharing my oops with you guys and not hiding what I am eating.
Tomorrow is a new day and I will be back on my program!

I spent the past 5 days away from home with the family. I am so proud of myself. I stuck to my eating program and did some form of exercise everyday. I even played tennis with my 7 year old son for the first time. I am sure he is loving the fact that his mommy is at last being more active with him. I am sure this is going to be a good week! emoticon
