Well, today was weigh in day - I do it on the 29th each month.
I've lost another 6 pounds and 3.5 inches. I almost danced this morning when I saw that 6 pounds! 14 more to go to my goal by July 1. I need to work pretty hard these next couple of months to get there but with the progress I've made I'm up for the challenge!

Then is will be time to look toward the next goal - I already know what it will be but am not concerned about it yet......

While I have done fairly well these past few days, my most difficult part of the journey so far has been controlling the calories I eat. I work on 5-8 fruits and veggies every day, but if I don't eat protein, I am starving and my blood sugar drops. Protein is so often combined with fat and that is where the majority of my calorie problems seem to fall. I am always getting too much fat. I eat lean meats ( a lot of wild game which is very lean and low fat) but there is the chicken and bacon and sausage, etc. I also LOVE cheese. While I am doing much better about avoiding it on a daily basis (I used to eat cheese every day!) I still want it all the time. When I do eat it, I am trying to eat more low fat varieties - mozzarella, parmesan, etc, but I still eat some cheddar every now and then - extra sharp white cheddar is my favorite! I eat it, but by not keeping it in the fridge every week, I am working it out of my diet better.

I eat out often and am doing pretty good on the portion sizes - I split the food on the plate even before I start eating, but I can't always take that other portion home with me so I might eat into it sometimes. I was really bad on vacation a week ago as I could not take anything home, so tended to eat what was in front of me.

I am making progress toward my goal. The end of this week is my Weigh and Measure day, so I'll have a better idea where I am. I'm nervous about it. Vacation threw a wrench in the plans as I did not get the exercise in I had hoped I would and of course ate too much - I knew I was doing it all the time I did it anyway.

I don't mean to come across negative, but today this seems like a lot of work!
I am looking at the big picture though - Fit by Fifty - not Fat and Frumpy! I will get there.

  I - like you are a cheese fiend!! LOVE IT!! Took a long time for me to not eat it with everything!

you might try some Whey protien powder to up the protien a bit but not add many calories -

I use one that is only 100 cal per serving- (designer whey)
I add it to unsweeted Almond milk- 8oz only 40 cal.
I have that as soon as I get up in the am - then after a good workout I will throw all that in a blender with some frozen fruit for a night time treat.

    It is a struggle to get in all the nutrition daily and still stay under your calorie limit. Keep working at it and studying the articles on SP. You will get there.
