A quick 20 minutes and then a high calorie lunch...

Cardio Streak Day 354
20 minute run/walk
0900hrs 68F

Today I've scheduled a run/walk but I have a meeting to attend a little later in the morning so I did a 'quick' 20 minute version.

The 20 minute effort produced 1.75 miles then I finished with a quick stretch (I may "pay" for this later), a shower, then away I went. We'll see how the legs are doing tomorrow.

Oh, and by the way, while I was out I did something I haven't done in MONTHS... I ate Mexican Food at lunch. Oh my, it's only mid-afternoon and I'm already nearing my calorie limit for the day.

There is good news, in a way. Back in "the old days" I would have had a high-calorie Mexican lunch and another for dinner, consuming two or three times the calories I should have eaten for the day. But that was 'then' and this is 'now.'

I will have a small dinner tonight, and I'll probably exceed my total calorie goal for the day, but not by more than mere percentage points. Once-in-a-while will not derail me... I've come too far and one minor indulgence will not cause a train wreck (promise!). However, it will be months before I see those guys again!!

The total effort today was:
2.35 miles

    Hopefully you don't "pay" too much later for the quick stretches.

Life definitely will have times we want to splurge a little - way to go letting that meal be just that, one splurge for an important reason!

Cardio Streak Day 353
35 minute jog
1100hrs 68F

Today is normally a 30-ish minute jog. Once I got going, it turned out to be a 35 minute jog instead, but that's okay because the goal is subject to change once I get going.

The weather was warm after being down in the 50s this morning but the sky was partly cloudy which made it feel cooler. After the warm up walk, I did a couple of minutes of stretching the legs, hoping to make them quit barking so much once I stop today. The jury is still out on it, though.

I went the extra five minutes and covered 3.10 miles, roughly a 5K, in 35 minutes. It felt good.

With the warm up and cool down, the total workout was:
3.74 miles
45 minutes

Cardio Streak Day 353

We had rain this morning but I went walking during z break in the action. Today was for walking as a rest day. I went 1.22 miles in 20 minutes.

Light jog today

30 minute jog
0700hrs 68F

Today was scheduled for a run/walk for about three miles. Instead, I elected to do a light jog again for thirty minutes. The legs are a little stiff again so I'm taking it easier on them and trying to stretch a little more after working out.

The distance covered was 2.50 miles in the time allotted. With the warm up and cool down, the total for today was:
3.10 miles
40 minutes

Today is scheduled for a jog of about thirty minutes. The time is dependent on how I feel and could be shorter or longer once I get going.

I felt okay today and settled on thirty minutes. The distance was 2.50 miles in that time.

With the warm up and cool down, the total workout was:
3.10 miles
40 minutes
