Cardio Streak Day 321

The weather is pretty cloudy again today with a light breeze. It's not hot but is just the right humidity level to allow a lot of perspiration.
Today I got on the scales and I am FINALLY at the point where I have less than ten pounds to reach my goal - 9 to be precise. I can't tell you what a fantastic feeling that is. However, I entered my BMI projection and I still may need to lose a few more to hit under 25.0% and enter the healthy range.
On the other hand, I've always been muscular enough that the tables allowed me to be heavier and still maintain a healthy BMI. Once I hit the next nine pounds, I'll stop there for a while until I visit my Doc and get an opinion from someone a little more professional than my own (snicker snicker).
With the great news, all I need to really feel good IS A JOB. Yoohoo, hey universe: It's time, I need to go back to work!!! I've done my physical fitness, gotten in shape, modified my diet, and I need to replace the stores of cash I've been living on for too long now. A little help here would be great!!
But back to the things I can control... I feel great. I did 2.62 miles today in 30 minutes, up from 2.50 miles the last few days in the same time period. With the warm up and cool down, the day was:
3.52 miles
45 minutes
473 calories burned

Cardio Streak Day 320

The weather is not as good as yesterday. The temperature is very comfortable, but there's just no sunshine out there. Ah, but I can work with it.
There are only hints that I had a cold last week. The runny nose is gone, the hacking cough is gone, but my voice is about half an octave lower than normal which puts me into the James Earl Jones category. It could be worse, eh?
Today I didn't hold to my normal schedule which calls for a 5K distance. Instead I did a 30 minute jogging effort, another 2.50 mile day.
The effort today looks suspiciously similar to yesterday except the cool down interval was five minutes shorter. Today's total was:
3.10 miles
40 minutes

Cardio Streak Day 319

The weather is absolutely gorgeous today and very comfortable. There is virtually no wind and it's a pleasure to be outside.
As you may know, I started battling a head cold last week and took it easy on Sat/Sun with 20 minutes of walking on each day. That's enough to keep the cardio streak going (as long as the speed is faster than 20 min/mile) but it was slow enough that I didn't put a strain on my system in order to keep the integrity of the streak.
Today I feel much better so I wanted to go back to jogging, somewhere around the 12 min/mile mark. Although I've impressed myself by going faster, I've decided to stay around the 12 minute mark for a while because it's in the actual "aerobic" range for me, i.e. I'm not forcing the jog at that speed.
On T-Th-Sat I do a different workout where I include speed drills on the distance I go, but on the M-W-F jogging sessions, the 12 minute pace should do nicely.
Today I went 2.50 miles in 30 minutes and wouldn't you know it, that works out to exactly 12 min/mile. I'm still hot and sweaty, but I'm not feeling exhausted. In fact, I feel like I could go farther. The pace definitely agrees with me.
Oh, and by the way, over the weekend I hit a total of 80 pounds gone forever!!

Cardio Streak Day 318
The weather got go the upper 60s and we finally saw sunshine today. My head cold is about gone so I'm thinking I'm back to jogging tomorrow. For today, it was a scheduled 20 minute walk, nothing more.

Cardio Streak Day 317

My cold is worse and all I did was a 20 minute walk - no warm up, no cool down.
I didn't eat much for dinner, just a sandwich. Hopefully with tomorrow and the planned walk, I'll be better by Monday.
