Cardio Streak Day 298
2 Mile Jog
It's just a couple of days until I hit DAY 300 on my cardio streak. Woo hoo!
It's warm and the sun is out. As I sit here drinking a bottle of no-name water, I read an email from one of my SparkFriends about water. The answer is YES, I do drink at least eight glasses of water every day, without fail, and I don't drink tap water (yuck) even though the local water utility has an excellent purity rating.
The first thing I do while making breakfast each morning is to drink a bottle of water. While I'm having breakfast, I'll drink a little more, and I drink water on the rare luxurious occasions when I have coffee (made with filtered water, by the way). By noontime, I've had usually about six glasses and continue the process up to dinner when I usually switch to iced tea (one of the vices I still maintain).
I did eliminate COKES (generic term for sodas). Heck, I used to drink two to four Big Gulps a day, but no more. I may have one diet coke every couple of weeks, but that's about it. WATER has become my drink of choice. 'They' say, and I tend to believe them, that the body does not function well without adequate water.
I did two miles today in 22 minutes and change. It's slower, but I wanted to go slower to try to fit into an even and controlled jog. Ever since I did a very hard speed session a week or so ago, I've lost the tempo of a good (comfortable) jogging groove and I need to try to find it again.
