This has been a busy active day. Started with a long walk with dogs and ended with an Ashtanga yoga class. In between was church, 12 step meeting, watering one neighbor's patio flowers, feeding another neighbor's dog and three loads of laundry. These are the kind of days I enjoy busy, active and involved days. It gives me a sense of purpose and plan, being available and engaged with life and the world around me. That is one reason I like Sparkpeople website. I can track my nutrition and my fitness as well as gain insight and education on what can work better when changed in my life.

You are such a dedicated worker. You will find lots of ways to serve outside the workforce when you retire. It will be different and may take some adjustment - not to HAVE to get up and BE someplace at a certain times after what 37 -38 years in the work force.

But all your free time will get filled up with purpose and plan of a different sort.

God will see you through it as He has forever!

"Those who do not find time for exercise will have to find time for illness." Earl of Derby. This quote caught my eye and it made me wonder. I have exercised nearly all my life. Grade school was softball in the summer along with walking to swimming pool in the town park. High school was swimming and track. College was lots of walking to and from classes to the dorm. In my adult years I have enjoyed step aerobics, jazzercise, running, walking, strength training, pilates, and yoga. I have done kick boxing but I never enjoyed it - something about punching and kicking did not sit well with my spirit. My health has been pretty normal all my life. Is it a result of exercise, food selections or the genetics of my parents. I really don't know. I do know that I can not stop now. I enjoy exercise and activity too much and only hope I will still be doing my yoga, walking the dogs, swimming, and lifting weights throughout the rest of my life. Of course I log all my daily activities into my Fitness Tracker.

I came home tonight from church group and was met outside by my neighbor. Of course the first thought I had was that my younger dog broke out another slate in the fence trying to get to his dog. But no, that was not it at all. My younger dog, Ellie, had been barking most of the evening while I was gone (this is unusual for her) and he was concerned that something had happened to me. He was just checking if I was ok and if everything was OK at my house. He even went so far as to leave me voicemail on my cell phone, but of course I had it turned off. I was so pleased that he cared enough to check on his neighbor. Wonderful to have neighbors that care.

I am home from Ashtanga Yoga class and just finished my dinner. I have lost some weight lately with a change in my food and the addition of Cardio Class. It is amazing how the results show up in my yoga class. I can move into and out of the yoga postures with greater ease since I've lost the weight. I believe if I keep tracking my nutrition and my fitness, I may reach my goal eventually. I just keep on tracking.

Friday - wonderful Friday. Walked the dogs early in the morning, worked half day at work, went to my strength training class and then went to my nail appointment. After that I went home and took a brief siesta to prepare for the rest of my day. I went my Vinyasa yoga class on Friday and it is tough. We did not do headstands today but we did alot of side planks. Great class and of course I logged it all into my Fitness Tracker.
