Friday night a man died in a site close to the pool - Ace was in the hot tub and wound up giving him mouth-to-mouth until the paramedics got there. By the time they did arrive he had no pulse for a few minutes. Ace closed his eyes long before they showed up. His wife brought back an orange juice pitcher today and told us here saga of the funeral homes.
Saturday, 10 January, 1998 - Last week we went out to the Sidewinder
Grill with Bill and Jeanette Reed for lunch on Sunday. Also we ran across Jerry Barber just down the road from Bill - they were at Catalina SPA until Friday. Wednesday we took Sherry (the new widow) to the undertaker to pay for the collection and internment of her husband. Sherry had to arrange to get the money from the bank first, and by the time we were done with the undertaker, it was 12:30. She took us to a nicer restaurant that is just north of the Sombrero and across the street, on the west side of Palm. She also picked up the tab, which is more than we wanted, but we did let her do it. Then, Wednesday evening, we went to a pitch-in at Catalina SPA, invited by Jerry and Millie. And that's about all I remember of the week.
