The BW has a nose like a bloodhound’s. She complains about cigarette smoke that I can’t smell, thinks milk is sour when it tastes perfectly fine to me, etc. It has always been that way, and I assumed that maybe it was because she had her adenoids out as a child, while Dr. Faust used to tell me that I had tonsils the size of golf balls – and I still have them.
Today I found out the truth. The cover of today’s “Parade” has “Hey, what’s that smell?” in large type, and the article “What your nose knows” , under “5 things you didn’t know about … smell”, reads (4. The ability to detect scents is boosted by estrogen, which is why women (and especially pregnant women) tend to have more sensitive noses than men.)
Who would have thought?
