Overall I am very proud of myself, and keep wondering how spectacular these numbers would have been if it weren't for overindulging during the Holidays. *sigh*

Road trips contraindicated for energy to exercise

Six hours on the road. Ick. 4 month old in the back of my husband's 2000 Monterro Sport that needs a new suspension double ick. Actually baby slept most of the trip and my friend kept me company with good convo- but I hate not moving. I realized how much my mood and energy depends on movement.

I felt sapped of all energy looking at my bags ready to be put away. The bottles on the counter taunted me. (And they are the annoying Dr. Brown's bottles with an inconceivable # of parts) I looked away from both of them. Ten minutes for me.

I joined the Spark Team, NEW YOU bootcamp. I did the day 1 video. After 6 hours of driving on the road, I was pretty proud of myself. (see blogs are where you get to pat yourself on the back emoticon and if you don't do it no one will!) Anyhow, 10 minutes of cardio, mostly kickboxing. Pretty good! That round house kick made me feel very uncoordinated, but that will come with time too.

Then I decided I love to write, inspire, and connect with others so I'm going to blog about it all. Now I'm blogging about it and again the bags are asking to be unpacked, the cats want attention, Dr. Brown's bottles need to be sanitized. And I will get to it all, knowing I FIRST made time for me. Always at least 10 minutes.

    There are so many reasons I hate road trips, and this is one of them! I spent too much time in the car as a kid to get much joy from them. I'm glad you're doing well, though! Keep up the good work!

Waking up to a new year

So last night was probably my most relaxed New Year's to date. I have a glass of red wine and a sip of champagne. Andrew worked, and baby Michael tried to stay up with mommy but only made it to 11:30 PM.

I managed to stay up until 2AM with friends and got in bed ready to crash out. I thought to myself that now is the time for improvement. Now is time to take care of me. I got back up and decided to brush my teeth and wash my face. As simple as it sounds that made me feel like I was starting the new year off on a good foot. I put on all the nice lotions and eye cream etc. (the ladies would appreciate this) I got back in bed and fell asleep refreshed. I started the year off making myself a priority. I plan to continue to do so, allowing me to be all that much better suited to take care of my beautiful family & help others enhance their lives.

    Woo hoo! Isn't it great being able to do something for you? I think all of us moms forget to do that each day. I'm always amazed how doing even the little things like fit in a shower after working out or being able to get my haircut (which reminds me it's been over 5 months, think I'm a little due...) makes you feel so refreshed and ready to tackle a new day.
