Breast Cancer Luncheon

Our company is a big supporter of breast cancer awareness. They have an annual luncheon with guest speakers to talk to us about the importance of getting a mammogram and self checks etc. This year our speaker was from the Tidwell Cancer Foundation and she told some very interesting facts. Did you know that one of the ways that cigarette manufactures get people hooked on cigarettes is that the paper has sugar in it. Also the deep breathing that you do to inhale, brings lots of oxygen to your head. If you are a shallow breather this is quite a rush.

Also she made a huge point about the importance of drinking 8 or more glasses of water a day. It is your bodies way of cleaning out the impurities. If the toxins are not washed out they will sit in your colon and could potentially cause colon cancer. Scary thought!! Be sure you drink your water!!!!

Had to share. My Tuesday is MUCH much better than my Monday.

I really really really really really really do not like Mondays. Especially ones where your co-worker calls out sick. I have worked way too hard today. On a happy note I have racked up over 10,000 steps already and the day isn't even over yet.

Commitment to the Fall Challenge

I just squeaked into the fall challenge so I am running a little behind. I am grateful to the cats team for allowing me to join.

I will participate in the challenge for the entire 8 weeks.
I will exercise for 30+ minutes for 5 or 6 days each week (1180 calories)
I will eat within my calorie range and drink my water
I will try to blog and communicate with team members to give and get support.
I will post my minutes etc...

I have high hopes for this challenge.

Things seem to have blown over for now. I will take it one day at a time. I will check into sparks when I can. I am still looking into all my options. Thanks so much for all of your prayers and support!

I may have to leave sparks for a while. With the kids I am missing too much work and they are trying to run me off. I really can't afford to retire early but it looks like I am not going to have any choice. We are already living paycheck to paycheck I am not sure how we will make it. I am going to try to figure out my options. Hopefully somehow I will make the right choices. You know when they want to get rid of you it is only a matter of time. I need prayers!
