I took a walk at Blanchard Park this afternoon after work. I'm still working only half time since my heart attack and taking advantage of the extra available time to get fit. The first few walks were so difficult! I could only walk a few hundred feet and would wheeze all the way. Now I can easily walk for several kilometers and breathe evenly. My doctor is very encouraged by my progress. I'll be seeing the cardiologist on Thursday, and am anxious to hear what he has to say.
Here is a photo of the lovely path I was walking on.
The path winds by a river.
It has quaint steps across brooks.
Wish you could smell this flower. It's SO fragrant!!!
I don't know what kind of flower/bush it is. If you know, could you please tell me.
One of my goals was to start hiking again. I had NOT planned for a 14 km hike today! When I realized that we had taken the wrong trail (because we were so busy yapping away rather than paying attention!), I panicked. We didn't even know if we were heading toward the car or away from it. My sister was enjoying herself because she's a lot more fit and adventuresome than I am. And she was right, we did make it back after our little adventure. But 14 km of hilly terrain was a bit much for this fat, out-of-shape 'ole lady!
Here are a couple photos from our hike.
My partner in crime, chief motivator, and sweetest little sister anyone could ever have!

Because it's Spring, we heard and saw little brooks gurgling down the mountain throughout the hike.
