We started to, but the wind was so cold, and so strong, it felt like I was out there in a tank top and shorts. It just didn't seem worth it, so we gave up for today. I'm still really hoping for more snow by Saturday afternoon, so we can cross country ski.
I have to say, if the weather had been the way it was today, while we were doing our "run every day from Thanksgiving to New Year" challenge, we'd have ran. I think I need a new incentive. If I can run with the stomach flu (which I did) I can run through anything, I just need a reason to!

Worked quite a bit today, and also got my run in, so I'm just a little beat tonight. Staying on track pretty well, after a couple of days of not doing so great on the weekend.
The temp dropped today, from mid 50s to maybe 30 degrees tops. It's also gotten really, really windy, and a little snow is flying. It still kind of feels like we're waiting for winter to start though, since we haven't had enough snow to even need to shovel. I'm actually starting to get a little impatient, I want to cross country ski!

No idea what to write, but I feel like I should. Soooo...what do I want to blog about?
I ran today. Yay! First time since last wednesday.
I had a tough couple days, food wise, but today seems to be on track. Yay for getting back on track. I have to think the past couple days were PMS related. Is this stuff suppose to get tougher as we get closer to menopause? I can handle a lot, but the longer PMS part is just not fair! Who do I complain to about this?
Our minister's last day at our church, after 21 years, was today. We haven't been NEARLY as regular about going to church as we should be lately, but darn it's tough to see him go. He and his lovely wife are the sweetest, kindest, most Christian people I've ever met, and I can't even imagine our church without them. I was a sobbing mess today at church. They're moving to a retirement home near their daughter in CA, and I know it's best for them, but things won't be the same. Truly the best minister I've ever heard preach a sermon, and more insight and wisdom than one person should have. He said this morning that he's been a tentmaker preacher for 68 years. That's so incredible to me...and I suspect they'll both be quite a blessing to others in their new location :)
Oh..one more thing. Just got a text from my partner. He's registered us for a 5K on Super Bowl Sunday. Huh. 3 miles....on Feb. 5th...in Michigan. This should be interesting :)

and I haven't run since...LOL. Got a little treadmill time in last night, but I HATE running on a treadmill, so I just walked as fast as I could and played with the incline a bit. I think I still got an okay workout, but it's not the same. I hula hooped this morning too. I'm getting exercise, but I haven't hit the road since wednesday, and I miss it! We're supposed to run tomorrow though, so it'll be better.

First of all, 21 years ago today, I became a first time mom. How is it even possible that it was THAT long ago? Time flies when you're raising kids, eh? My only daughter is 21 today, a mom herself, and a sweet, wonderful person. I'm so grateful that I was chosen to be her mom. She's pretty special to me :) Her 3 brothers are too...but...I'm glad I got the privilege of having one daughter (and I may be a little grateful that it was only ONE daughter too, but that's a whole different subject..lol)
Secondly, I think I haven't mentioned this here, but I could be wrong. After something like 17 years, I'm going to be teaching water aerobics again. I'm so excited! I love water, love aqua classes, and can't wait to try teaching again! The REC that my partner and I contract with is reopening their pool and I'm going to be subbing for instructors, for now, which is great because it'll ease me back into it, then if anyone leaves, I'll have an opportunity to teach fulltime. I was already excited about the pool, now I'm even more excited!
