5 miles, 1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles!

Thanksgiving Day I ran five miles. The first time I've run that far in about 5 years, so I was pretty psyched. Thanksgivng night, I read that Runner's World was starting a challenge. It involved pledging to run at least a mile a day, every day, between Thanksgivng and New Year's Day. I asked partner/best buddy/super trainer Mike if he was interested in taking the challenge with me. Duh. Of course he was...so we're in it.

Friday, after I participated in the Black Friday Boot Camp class he taught, we ran one mile.
Saturday morning, we ran 2 miles.
This morning we ran a very wet, chilly 3 miles.

Guess who's glad tomorrow is another 1 mile day? Yep..THIS GIRL!

This is fun, and a nice challenge, so far. Check back with me when it starts snowing...LOL.

On to the fun stuff!

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Our presentation today went REALLY well! We had a nice size audience, and they really seemed to appreciate what we said. We were also asked to write a proposal for providing fitness classes and massage on-site for the employees. SCORE!

Now we're onto the cooking and cleaning part of the week, since I'm done with work stuff until after the holiday. Actually, next thing on my to-do list is shopping, which was supposed to be done tonight, however, I left my wallet in my partner's car this afternoon....soooooo I guess I'll do it first thing tomorrow. Oops! At least I didn't have to go out in the rain tonight.

Doing a presentation at a company tomorrow entitled "How to Stay Fit and Sane During the Holidays". Looking forward to it, but it just figures that I'm presenting on fighting holiday stress when I'm feeling a little bit stressed myself...lol. I'm so busy with work stuff right now, I haven't had a chance to do my Thanksgiving grocery shopping yet. We have our turkey, but sides and desserts would be nice too. The good news is, tomorrow's presentation is the last work related thing I have to do, then I get to focus on shopping, cleaning and cooking! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, so I can't wait to get started on it!

Excited about the presentation too. Personal Trainer partner is handling most of the "fit" part, but my "sane" part includes talking about the health benefits of massage, some meditation techniques and stretching. Some of my favorite subjects! We're also doing a drawing for a free massage for one lucky employee, so that should go over well too :)

So tired.

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

It was a very long, very nice work day today. I'm so glad tomorrow is an easy day, one meeting, no clients. I need the break. Going to try to go for a little run in the morning before my meeting. Then I have an exciting afternoon of paperwork and housework planned. I'm hoping to mop my kitchen floor, I've been trying to find time to do that for the last week. How sad is that?

My house is the "pits". I really need to hire someone to clean for me. Never enough hours in the day!

Sometimes it's hard to balance your home and work life. My biggest regret is having focused too much on work in the past.
