One of my favorite months. Probably because Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love that there's no gifts to be bought, no pressure. Just yummy food with people you love. In our house, we have a kind of silly tradition. We eat Thanksgiving dinner in our pajamas. We're really not formal people, and we started this several years ago, because we want our Thanksgiving dinner to be as comfortable and un-fussy as possible. Even when we invite people, we tell them they have to eat in their jammies(or at least sweats) and so far, no one has complained or declined the invitation. Matter of fact, a few years ago, we ate at the home of some friends, and we still kept the pajama tradition. They loved the idea when I mentioned it, so we all wore jammies...LOL.

Talked to the partner today about running on Thanksgiving, since he isn't going out of town this year (last year he went to see his daughter in Pittsburgh) and he was all for the idea. We briefly thought about doing an organized Turkey Trot, but decided to do our own. That way we can get back to the parade, the turkey smell..and my jammies sooner! I'm already starting to research healthy Thanksgivng recipes....I can't wait. This year my husband's birthday falls on Thanksgiving, so whatever else we have, I suspect birthday cake is on the menu too.

Nobody I know does that(P.J.'s) and I can honestly say that I never would have thought of it. Very unusual! A Thanksgiving walk sounds good.

Another busy weekend.

Walked 3 miles with the partner and the kids yesterday morning, then spent a little time at the mall, which I haven't done in a while. Last night we went to a Halloween party at the YMCA I use to work at. For the past 4 Halloweens, I was one of 2 people that planned and organized the whole party. Last night, all I had to do was go to the party with my family, and have fun. That was soooo strange! Nice...but strange. Instead of being the first one to show up and start working on it, and being the last one to leave the building after it was done, I spent a couple hours there having fun, then went home and was in my jammies with a glass of wine by 8:30...LOL.
Today I got up before 7:00 to join the partner at a 5k race. I didn't run this one, just provided moral support and a cheering section. It was still fun, especially since there were lots of fun costumes there. I told partner that from here on out, I'm running the races instead of cheering, at least til it gets warm again. It was DARN cold out there today!
We ended up going out for a run/walk this afternoon, so I got a little exercise in. Stayed on track fairly well as far as food all weekend too!

Started the day with an hour of hula hooping, followed by a little strength training, which was followed by a 2 mile run with the partner-guy. Came home, showered, then took my daughter (and the perfect baby granddaughter!) out to lunch at Panera, and then went to my little boys Halloween parties at their schools. Came home for a while, then had to head out to see clients. A long, but very nice day....AND I managed to stay on track through all of it!

Oh....I had husband and wife clients tonight. The husband got his massage first, then, while the wife was getting her massage in the living room, he came into the kitchen, which was right by the living room, and started cleaning. I leaned over to the wife and whispered
"you're getting a massage while your husband is cleaning. Do you know how many women would be jealous of you right now?" about a charmed life, huh?

I"m impressed by all that you managed to do in one day. Staying on track throughout a busy day is always a great accomplishment!

Glad you had a nice lunch with your family. Hubby cleaning would never happen in my house!

Long, crazy busy day. I did okay for most of it, but then I got cold and tired, and caved into the lure of stuff I shouldn't eat. I know what to do, how to take care of myself, and I know I feel better when I do it. Why is it still so easy to NOT do it?

I suppose I should be grateful for the fact that I do the wrong stuff much less often than I use to.

I think we have the same problem. I don't really care how it will effect me later. I live for the moment. (One of my big problems that I don't know how to conquer) But it is happening less---like you said!!

We all have our moments. I just try to think of how much I'll regret it later and that's usually enough to keep me on the right track. emoticon

Good day.

Today started with a 3 mile run with my partner after the boys got off to school....which was followed by some serious baby granddaughter cuddling....and...well..what else could possibly matter after that? LOL

I may be biased but I think she's just the most perfect baby since...her uncle(my youngest) was a baby a mere 8 years ago. I love having her, and her mommy here. Remind me I said that later this week, when my daughter's less than neat habits and tendency to sprawl all over my small living room start to get to me, would you?

I'm rather proud of myself for sticking with my running. I really thought I didn't want to do it anymore..but OMGosh I'm loving it!

Good for you for sticking with your running plan. It's easy to just give up and not stick to a plan, but you proved just the opposite. We can do whatever we need to do to get the job done. "Women Rock!"
