Hit a plateau? Need motivation to go the next step? I found this diet in Health Magazine. You eat the same thing everyday for 5 days so if that's not your thing go no further. (I lost 8 lbs. in 5 days.)
Don't start a "diet" without consulting your physician first.
Lose 5 Lbs. in 5 Days
1/2 c. fat-free cottage cheese
1/2 c. whole wheat English muffin with 1 tsp. pure fruit spread or natural peanut butter
1 medium-size slice cantaloupe
1 hard boiled eggs (watch those Iowa eggs haha)
1/2 c. grapes
Caesar Salad with 3 ounces grilled chicken
and 2 teaspoons low-fat oil and vinegar Caesar dressing
1 oz. whole natural almonds
3 oz. broiled salmon
1/2 c. brown rice
1 c. steamed vegetables
1/2 c. juice-sweetened yogurt
I didn't have grapes so I just ate the other half of the apple in place of grapes.
1/2 c. brown rice was not enough for me so I usually ate a whole cup. For the
lunch salad I used the spray on Ranch Vinaigrette dressing. I would use Baby Spring Mix salad, add a tomato cut up, english cucumber because you can eat the skin, different colored bell peppers (whichever color was on sale), mushrooms, cilantro (whatever I had on hand).
I didn't buy salmon until the last two nights so I was eating tuna from a can.
I forgot to make chicken the first week so I was eating 2 boiled eggs at lunch and
skipping the egg at snack. But this week I made chicken so I had it for lunch.
Make a big batch of brown rice the first night because it takes a long time to cook and I heated what I needed each night. It takes about an hour to cook.
One night I ate 3 little squares of dark chocolate (I've given up milk chocolate because once I eat it I crave it so much I can't stop eating it.) One night I made a fruit smoothie. So even though I cheated I still lost 8 lbs. that first week.
I even usually ate more tuna, salmon, or chicken that they listed and still lost weight.
I was also doing my Leslie Sansone walking DVDs approx. 30-40 min. (including warm up, cool down, and stretch) so that helps.
Be sure to always drink 8 cups of water.
The 2nd week I added different foods but made wise choices and paid attention to portion size and REAL HUNGER. This 5 day "diet" gave me a jump start to continue on this journey.
