Reap what you sow.....

Saturday, January 26, 2013

In my garden I am putting seeds of fitness by working out and taking better care of my body through proper nutrition. We reap what we sow! I want my body to be healthier and working out and making wise choices in my food intake will show results over time. I know that poor decisions before got me to where I am and now I am paying the price, so I am weeding out my garden in hopes of something more beautiful, fitter, healthier and happier! Blossoming emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon one step at a time!!!!

Rewards....

Friday, January 25, 2013

I used to think that a piece of cake was a good reward! Not anymore. I think rewards that are great are those that can be worn. I have been trying to think of some good ideas for rewards for myself...

Heres the list I have come up with:

workout wear
shoes
a bracelet
new shirt
a pedicure
a manicure
a massage
a cruise when I reach half way at least
a trip to Las Vegas

Then I was thinking what are reasons to reward myself....

staying committed to my workout
eating healthy
logging onto spark and blogging and being accountable
spreading the spark

Sounds like a great plan to me! The list is similar to my mental one. I need to sit down and write it out.

Great list! I use my rewards at key points, for example a new pair of workout shorts after 1000 fitness minutes - it really gives something to work towards. Its good to treat yourself occasionally!

I lost my weight almost 4 years ago and the 1st thing that I got really excited about was a pair of black leather fashion boots. I could finally wear regular ones to fit around my beefy calves.

Other than that, just smaller clothes and oh yea lots of really high heels.

Hell, I am buying everything now! I will definitely buy a very cute, figure fab swimming suit. I also want to get a figure-hugging dress with sexy heels. Oh and I want to be able to wear short jean shorts with a white tank without muffin top and cellulite.

Gaining.....

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

I am gaining confidence that I can do this! I want to be here a month later, 3 months later, 9 months later and so on showing pictures of the new and improved me! I want to gain a new perspective in life and I know its already taking shape within me. I have started back using my calendar to post my star stickers to show which days I work out. I have a notebook that I am using to write down my foods and exercise in it to show me what I am eating, exercises that I am doing and attitude/ perspective on things to help me when I cannot spark at the moment. This takes work but I know that dedicating a few minutes each day to myself and being careful of how I fuel my body is going to help me make some great improvements.

Good for you! Whatever it takes to keep you on this train, I am all for. It can be hard to stick with this because it consumes your entire life. But it is worth it. I want you here 9 months from now. Don't go missing on me ever again!

emoticon girl. I like the calendar idea. See, I use one for my son to help him learn the days of the week. But, I never thought about one for myself. I would use to track exercise and weight loss/gain!

Lessons Learned....

Monday, January 21, 2013

#1. Don't compare your weight loss to the loss of others. We all lose at different rates and different things work for different people.

#2. Trial and Error. We try and we continue to learn as we go through this weight loss journey. The best way to learn is to try.

#3. Eating is a Must! Some people think that starvation is key. However our bodies need fuel and energy to burn. Without it its hard to function and we could be doing more harm to our bodies without it.

#4. Patience! Weight didn't pile on overnight, it sure won't fall off overnight! I wish it could but slow and steady wins the race.

#5. Some days are going to be great and some days are going to be hard however consistency is key and holding your head up! I find that sometimes my hard days are hard because I want things to be a quick fix but I really need to take my time and continue on in able to reach my goals.

#6. Exercise is a mood booster! When I exercise, eat right and do what I am suppose to then I actually feel better! I guess because then I know that I am doing right by myself!
