Skim Milk!!!!

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Okay, I have changed my milk to skim milk, it was a gradual process, I went from Whole milk to 2% then down to the 1% and I am now down to Skim milk. Its not so bad!!!! I actually like it, it doesn't look or taste so bad and it seems like lately I am just trying to save my calories, make the most of them, so every little bit helps. I am seeing what else I can change and still get good results, I am making some moves and I need to go ahead and my up my Goal/ Reward list!!!

Keep up the good work. Soon you'll be switching to soy milk. :-) I gave up mild WOW over ten years ago. I use it now for mac and cheese once or twice a year. Goals are so wonderful. Keep writing them down.

I read this as you are almost out of the 220s...not your apartment, right? If it is the 220s ...you can do it...I have until the 12th to leave the 140s behind, but I'm sure having a battle getting rid of the last few pounds. Good luck...Take care...Sharon J /IN

Ok. If I read right, you are being evicted? It sounds like you are taking it in stride. It must be stressful though, along with your flow and everything else. Try to relax so that the stress does not show up in your weight. I know you will be alright. I pray everything goes your way, in the name of Jesus.

I'm going through the same thing. This month TOM didn't come with extra pounds - I lost 1 instead. We are on the move for sure this time and we will succeed!

Your post made me laugh! I love it that you are rejoicing about any weight loss. I too understand the bloat and empathize. If you can stomach it try hot water with lemon juice in it. I find it helps me a bit during my monthly bill. Keep us laughing!

Just Reflecting here............

Monday, January 21, 2008

This week, I noticed that shaking up my routine for the past few weeks, may have been what I needed. I have been working out a little harder and breaking up my time on the machines, I have been trying to do a few video on demand workouts, and I actually find myself sticking to them to finish them out. The old me would have just stopped and did something else, while the video play. I have started doing little things like exercises during commercial break, when I watch tv. I don't watch as much tv. I seem to move more through the day. I think the longest I sit is when I am sparking. That is a good turn around. I have noticed that this time with TOM's visit I have been stronger in my cravings, I am hoping that from now on, he won't get me, I am looking harder for healthier alternatives for the not so good food choices. Good food doesn't have to be bad for us, we just have to find healthier alternatives. I am so glad that I am here working on me, and here to share it with all of my spark friends.

Red, All the little things do add up and variety keeps us from getting bored. For some doing the same routine works and for others change is the key. I know for myself I read a weekly magazine called Womans world (they are how I learned about spark) and First for women and in every issue they have a weightloss article with real people who have lost weight and I change my routine alot, for instance I am so busy at my newe job that I am not taking my allotted meal breaks and I eaither grab something unhealthy or end up over eating when I get home because I am starving. So this week article feature whey protein powder made with lite soy milk and they had two women in who both lost over 150 pounds featured. So this week on the days I work I am going to take a shake and fruit for lunch. All though I am not big on shakes it's better than nothing at all. So keep it up you have made such a great accomplishment already and you inspire so many . I know both you and I will be entering 2009 in maintenence.

Last weeks issue of Womans World featured Spark members BROOKIEBOMB) who lost 66 pounds, Melissa (URBANNENA) who lost 130 pounds, and Nancy (SEYSARAH) who lost 90 pounds.

Its funny how when TOM gets closer that we crave for what we can't have. Well this month I can't and I am not giving in. I am strongly on this mission to get down to the 100 club and I can't do this if I let Tom have his way with me. I have knocked off the plateau and I have to continue on my journey. This month I am going to get out of the 220 club. I am 4.6 lbs away and I am going to say hello to 219 before or on Feb 1st, 2008!!!!

Red, I feel ya on that one!! It's like every month I forget that TOM is coming soon and I'm going to want to eat everything in sight. The thing is, I usually don't ask myself, "Why am I craving all this junk?" until the damage is done. Then, I end up not only feeling bloated but guilty as well. I'm with ya on this one. I need to set myself up for it and plan better!! And I know you're looking to get out of the 220s for now (which you will do soon), but I can't wait to celebrate with you when you cross over to Onederland. It's not that far away. So c'mon girl...it's feels good being on the other side!
