I Lost My Spark. But I'm finding it again.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011

So i haven't been on spark people for a couple months. i got discouraged when i hit my plateau. I lost ten lbs and stopped. Now I'm ready to try it again and i really want to get back into the groove of spark people. I'm just glad that i can positively say that even though i was not on this web site that i did not gain or lose anything and while some say that's not good. i say that its not bad cuz i wasn't even watching what i ate, and before when i did that, I would gain some weight. So I think that means that somehow my subconscious is controlling when i get full or what not. So with that note i need to get back into the exercise groove as well. i want to focus on my legs and abs and arms. anyone have efficient exercise ideas for those areas? thank you so much. looking forward to the encouragement that i received last time i was logged on. thank you very much everyone.

Years ago, when needles were much thicker and hurt a lot more, someone had me squeeze my index finger between my thumb and middle finger as hard as I could and concentrate on that while they inserted the needle and it really worked. Try that.

I Realize it Now: Im an Emotional Eater.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

I just took this quiz here on spark people, and it tells you what kinda eater you are and what is the best option for a diet and exerscise plan is for you. I am sure that some of you have already found it, but for those of you who are new to this site, i will add the link for you right now:

ok that was the introduction. the rest of this blog is going to be about my results.
so my results say that i am an emotional eater. i guess that makes sense. I started gainging alot of weight when i had issued with my dad in freshman year, and after my parents divorced i just got bigger and bigger. after that, my life got a little more active, and i started loosing weight and getting more healthy. now recently a friend of mine is going through a stressful time and that causes stress for me and i find myself emotionally eating then i feel guilty for not sticking to my plan that i have and i hit the gym 2 or sometimes 3 times more than i would in a normal day.

since i have joined spark people, I have gotten a little healthier and paid attention to when i am standing in front of an open fridge when im not even hungry. (and there has been a signifigant number of sucesses where i was able to close it and walk away without eating a single calorie) emoticon but i want input from you guys out there who are in the same boat as me. if you are an emotional eater, what kind of things do you do to help yourself with it? And what do you find works for you?

Im very interested in what you have to say. thank you.

I took the test too. I'm considered a fast fueler, but I considered myself an emotional eater also. I ate myself into the shape I am in now because of the decisions I made when I was younger.

My trick for water is I went to Target and bought a cute water bottle and I keep it next to me all the time. In the car, gym, work, and in bed.

Hi! Thanks for the link, I'm about to take the test. In the meantime, a trick i have for myself is to keep water and gum near me as often as possible. A lot of times I feel like I just need that chewing motion for whatever reason, and the gum works great for that.

emoticon for realizing your triggers! You can totally do this :)

Monday. That is when I decided that I was going to start loosing weight. I started it on tuesday, when I found this site. When I started off, I didnt make the right choice and I was going about 200 calories less than my minimum that I am supposed to eat.

Im finding now that I can eat the right amount of calories for my height and weight (I end up eating about 1200-1300 a day now and its easier than what i was doing before) also i have found out a new thing to make me a little less hungry throughout the day. after i eat a breakfast I go and work out a little (not a whole lot) between breakfast and lunch.

I think it gets my mind off the food and gets it back onto something positive. I do the same thing for between lunch and dinner. (just another small workout, maybe 15 minuets) and then after dinner I get out the "big guns" and I workout for an hour, and sometimes more. working out before bed also makes me tired so it helps my sleep too and that is a good thing. :)
