I finished a 12K and it was fantastic!! If I can get a little faster, I know I can do a half marathon,

Towards the end of the race, one of the mentors from my training program ran back to get me and run me in. The inspiration from her was awesome.

Next stop - Disney half marathon relay and 8.1 miles!!


Lilac 5K & Inspiration

Ran the Lilac 5K today in 45:07. Not too bad, considering all the hills.

The best part was my good friend ran with me. It was her first 5K and she did a great job! She is my marathon relay partner. The sweetest part is that she called me her inspiration. She is one of the strongest women I know, so it means a lot to me.

I just registered for the WDW Wine & Dine Half Marathon Relay and I told my running partner I would do the longer (8 mile) portion. Now I really need to keep focused on training from now until October.

I deserve it

A funny thing happened this weekend. I was treating myself to some sweets for Mother's Day (cheesecake over 2 days and an awesome cupcake over 2 days) thinking "I deserve it. It's Mother's Day."

Then, a thought jumped into my head. I deserve to be healthy and fit, too. This did not stop me from eating the sweets, but it did stop my from continuing to eat junk. I believe in moderation, so the sweets were not "bad" or a deal breaker, esp since I spread them out, but that new thought was great!

Halfway there

I realized that I am halfway to my goal!! 34 lbs gone and 34 left to go. I know the next 34 may be harder, but I'm determined to get there and see.

One another note, I ran the ENTIRE 5K this AM and even shaved a little time off from the first one.
