Its amazing that 4 months progress, has been erased by a month an a half of bad eating. I feel frustrated that I'm having all these medical issues and having to be put on 3 rounds of Predisone and at really high dose, that makes you want to eat everything in sight! Hence the 13lbs added back to the ticker.
Now that I'm finally off of that horrendous prescription, I'm back. Starting slower than I normally would, which I normally would just dive in. But I'm still dealing with medical issues and will have to have surgery in August.
So first step, NO sugar...Absolutely no sugar for me...lol. I'm an addict, and can't have one bite without eating the whole bar/s or bag. So its all or nothing for me. I'm proud to say I've been sugar-free 4 days now!

I have TWO big events coming up on 6/4/11
1. My sister is getting married (and)
2. My singing performance that evening (was rescheduled to 6/4/11)
**GOAL: - 8lbs **
Ok...so I didn't do that well on my last challenge. However with the above events, I'm more determined than ever to do what it takes, and kick into high gear! Plus the weather is finally getting nicer and the reality of summer is peaking around the corner, and I want to be smaller, fit, and feel better about myself!
Ways to make this happen:
1. Exercise a min of 45 mins 5-6 times a week (no excuses)
2. Sign up for the Heart Walk which will give me more motivation to work out, which is 5/21/11
3. Water, Water, Water - 90 oz
4. Eat out less and pack lunch 4 out of 5 days a (work)week
5. No cheating on my diet
6. Log onto Spark People more regularly
7. Affirmations to myself
STARTING WEIGHT: 265 lbs
I'm excited, I KNOW I can do this!!

Goal: Lose 8lbs in 30 days (5/4/11)
Incentive: I have a singing performance(my first) at my friends gig. I wanna feel/look good, and buy a hot new dress for it :) 8lbs seems doable and it'll put me at a nice round number of 255lbs
Ready... Set... GO!
(My performace date has been moved, therefore changing the timeline :) ) Altho I was bad for a week since the beach, and back on track now, so keeping my goal the same.

**I attempted to start this challenge 1/28/11, was doing well for a week, then got really sick for about two a half weeks. With birthday and vacation, I reverted back to old bad eating habits & no exercise, I just never got back on.
--My massage therapist and I agreed to only ONE "Do Over", more to the fact that I was sick so long. (so here is a copy of the challenge/goals, pretty much the same, new challenge end date and higher start weight(unfortunately) and we've settled on a prize)
My massage therapist knew just what to say to motivate me. A challenge, a race, I'm all for it! Just gives me more drive
I told him tonight, I've been really been struggling this month getting on track with eating and exercising. I've had 3 faults starts this month, and last year I was on track by 1/18/10, and going strong.

Me: -10 lbs
Him: -16 lbs
See it's only fair as it is proven that men lose weight faster than
men emoticon We both have about the same amount of weight to lose in general (for body size/height). This is a race and there is a prize :) So it is ONNN!!!!
QUESTION for my Sparkyfriends??
Should I lift light weights in combination with the cardio (which I did last year), to lose weight faster? Asking as I know sometimes lifting weights can show as a gain on the scale.
-As a side note, when eating right and working out like I should, I typically lose 4-6lbs a month. So I'm going to really have to push to hit 10 lbs in 30 days!
GOALS to achieve this:
1. 90oz of water a day (currently drink 40-50oz)
2. Make my large morning coffee a small & work on fazing it out
3. Exercise 6 days a week (min. 45 mins) (when on track was doing 4x wk)
4. Eating out no more than 3 meals per week
(currently eat out 5 days a week for lunch, twice a week weekday nights, and 2-3 times over the weekend)
5. Daily Affirmations :)
STARTING WEIGHT: 270 lbs (already lost -2 lbs :)
TARGET WEIGHT: 260 lbs
PRIZE: Gift certificate for two at the new Comedy Club "Helium"
UPDATE 4/5/11 - Both my massage therapist and I didn't hit our goals..so it was a draw! We both lost 5lbs, but hey at least it was a loss! =)

Well... I guess I underestimated the power of bad eating, no exercise, as I put back on ekkk... 15lbs in a month and a half. So had to change my stats to reflect my true start weight for the Challenge. So Sparkies...wish me luck that I lose -10 before he loses -16!! (see blog below)
Start Weight: 265lbs
Goal Weight: 255lbs by Feb 28th
