I knew I gained, but I was wrong!

Sunday, April 11, 2010

I checked the scale again...and even after eating a delicious fat laden lunch yesterday, it stayed the same. I had to look, I haven't been getting on the scale but I was sure I had blown it...kinda thot I deserved to weigh more after eating Red Lobster Lobsterfest meal of shrimp/lobster with butter...only the butter was leftover when I was done!

So, the weird mindset that I had going on is gone. I even today for the first time did measurements--I have no idea why I would not do it before. It is so funny how the mind works and sets a thot in place--and I listen!! YES

Don't be hard on yourself for enjoying a treat time and again. Remember, we need to not think of this as a 'diet' but rather a new healthy lifestyle. That being the case, we have to allow ourselves an occassional splurge without feeling guilty (guilt tastes terrible!!!).
I'm so glad the scale was good to you!!
have a great week!! emoticon

You do have to treat yourself from time to time you know. I could see why you opted for that.... I love red lobster. A whole lobster tail has like 30 cals without the butter btw. Teehee. So with the butter it wouldn't be that bad.

I love the cheddar bay biscuits. Yum.

Just thoughts

Saturday, April 10, 2010

I have figured out that I need to eat when I am hungry and then wait. Tonight I was sure that more food was needed, like brownies. Hmmm. So, I ate 2 fruit servings to get some in for today and next I will get another veggie serving in. Right now the intense need for junk has subsided.
The idea of buying new everyday jeans just isn’t translating into a purchase. SO capris, here I come. No buttons on the pockets—scratches chairs! Not too dark or too short… and not heavy material…this is not an easy project…lol.
So, as I get ready to lose some more weight…I have 3 goals; one on the ticker and the other waiting in the wings. I want to get in the 1’s, overweight range and size 14. This needs to happen before July…so I cannot afford to get stuck again.
Exercise is back and good shoes are in. Ok, I am going to be in an airport twice this month and that seems to be a time where I hurt my heel…trying to not miss my plane…hopefully that won’t be an issue again.
So far, if I follow the program and exercise, weight comes off. It is lovely outside now and I can garden…plus walk and walk! I’m ready!!

YAY!! It sounds like a great plan. Capris will be very smart for the next six months and you can keep your eyes open for jeans while you shop. SO when you're in the airport don't wear the shoes that hurt your heel! Pack 'em, and wear the ones you wear for walking. I'm so excited for you that the pain is gone and you can get back to walking.

Motivation idea

Tuesday, April 06, 2010

Two minutes ago I was going to write about no motivation ideas. Then, I did my morning gotta feed the (outside) dog routine. It is a beautiful sunshiny day. I have a book that needs read and sunshine. The only missing element is a beach...lol. I am now motivated to quit feeling overwhelmed and begin my day.

I am going to plant my early garden and then sit outside a read my book. Next, each time I come inside I will do one quick inside project...and just keep plugging away in the beautiful sunshine!

I think the sun is my motivation!!!!!!
I found it!!!!

Sunshine motivates me to clean my house! It's my favorite time - I open the doors and windows, let the fresh air, and I am instantly ready to clean the world :)

I'm glad you found your motivation.

ok

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

I worked late tonight...later than late...and then I was so hungry...I've been hungry all day. So, I decided to go ahead and eat the craving so I didn't heap up even more calories trying to still that craving.

It was a chicken salad crossaint sandwich with a Dr Pepper. That is how I used to eat all the time. I ate the sandwich and some of the drink. Now, I am not wanting anything more. I had scimped on supper since it was going to be the same as lunch...but leftovers...and not what I wanted. I honestly would have eaten it had I any idea 5 hours would pass and I'd still be working!!! My safe snacks for the day were long eaten.

I am glad this stopped the urge to eat more stuff. I'm glad it wasn't a chocolate attack. I'm glad that l didn't blow the entire weight loss so far with this decision. Now to walk through the "stuff" and get back on track drinking water and exercising...soon. I think I'm almost able to do the treadmill again...my heel is not causing constant pain...vanity choice in shoes caused this issue. Soon. I promised myself soon.

I find lots of motivation on SP. Thanks for reading here and hope you find the courage to keep moving forward...

Great job on the self control. I totally understand the "taste" thing. ugh Good for you! Remember a few days back I ATE THE WHOLE THING!! :-o
I find when I am 'starving' if I drink water, or flavored water, the pangs seem to dissipate. Just a thought.
We both keep extra 'good snacks" in the car for 'just in case'. Perhaps you could do this too?
What happened to your heel? Are you sure you don't have a spur or something? :-(
Looking forward to hearing you are back on the treadmill!

Did you get a pair of shoes that feels good and don't hurt your feet? I'm impressed that you were able to have self control. Working late and being hungry (starving!) is really hard. Good job!

Have a great day.

Fun at home

Saturday, March 27, 2010

The grandkids remind me that being home is more fun that anything. We just hung out. They are 3 and 4! It was fun listening to their view on life. They are free to express how they feel and they feel it 100%... Makes me wonder when we lose this freedom to self expression.

Kids don't have to exercise when they are naturally busy/active...they love to move. Contrast that to me that sits and watches all their activity! They fell asleep exhausted. Yep, if I am exhausted I sleep well...maybe they know more than I realize.

I laughed when the 4 year old asked at lunch very seriously, now is this breakfast or lunch? I had her cereal bowl on the counter and was able to show her breakfast...she was good with the reminder...lol. The same child told her mom at the store recently that she was buying all junk food...and she was!!

I had fun and it was simple. Now to simplify the rest of my life. lol.

Hehehe..... My 2 and 3 year old often ask to work out with me. The other day I caught my 3 year old son trying to do pushups.

Love the little ones, even if from time to time they drive me crazy.
