A little bit of exercise.

Nothing earth shattering but I did get my exercise today, not quite what I used to do but it's an accomplishment up from no motivation. I got in 30 minutes of dumbbell exercises, 15 minutes of Leslie SAnsone WAlk Away The pounds and when we were in Ikea and at the mall waiting for take out supper I walked. I just couldn't stand still while waiting so I took off. Between Ikea and the mall it was about 30 minutes so that worked.
I am hoping this is my start on the road to motivation.

    That sounds like a lot of difference between "zero motivation" and 75 minutes! A "little bit" would be the 10 minutes that Chris Downey says he started with. You're doing great!!!

    Great Start! I too just recently got re-motivated and what helped me was starting small. With every tiny victory, I got more and more excited about trying this again! emoticon

Lost my motivation

I have read blogs, I have read articles, I have read success stories, I have read the daily spark, I have read The Spark, I have joined 2 new teams but nothing is working this time. My mind is just not there. I do exercises but I'm not as gung ho as I was.

My 2 hour exercise time has dwindled down to 35-40 minutes and most of that is cleaning the house and going up and down stairs several times a day.

I don't know weather to give it time or to force myself to get up and go.

On another note, for the first time in YEARS I made horrible dinner. Blech, I wanted to make a roast chicken I saw done on the Food Network by The Barefoot Contessa. I cut up a lime and a head of garlic and shoved them into the chicken, then rubbed the outside with Mrs. Dash Caribbean Citrus seasoning, baked it for an hour. The chicken was done but it didn't taste that great. Then i made a SparkPeople recipe for Sweet Potatoes and the combination of spices was horrible. Good think we had a huge green salad to go with it.

I hope tomorrow is a better day.

    stay strong girl!!! you can find your mojo again! I just know it. . .take each day one at a time. . .just make good choices and break down your day. . .you can do it! you are such an inspiration to me - all you go through and your positive attitude - you are always there to cheer others on and show your support! set your sights for spring - you need to gear up for that 5K this year with me! so chin up and move forward girl! you can do it - you are worth the effort! take care of you. . .spring is around the corner and that means we are one day closer to your return!!! YEAH!! the days are getting longer!

    Try not to give up! Maybe what you need to do is to focus on you. If you've kept a journal go back and re-read what you wrote in the beginning. Go back and look at old photos of yourself and remind yourself what you used to look like. If you have an old pair of pants, try them on and see how they fit you now. Just give yourselves some reminders of how far you've come. And maybe doing 2 hours a day has caused you to burn out. Try some new workouts, focusing on doing 2 30 minute sessions a day. Try to find something enjoyable & different. For me, I love the Jillian Michael workouts. Try Zumba, yoga, Leslie Samone, Jillian, Jackie.... try something new and maybe you'll find something that you enjoy. emoticon emoticon

    We've all been there, Robin. It is pretty hard to keep up the enthusiasm to do all the hard work of healthy living! But you are still doing it - even 35-40 minutes of exercise a day is great - more than I was doing until my Fitbit emoticon

Fake it until you make it! Your motivation will come back.

Spring training is just around the corner!

    I can tell you I've felt the same way SO many times in the last year. But you are still doing great! 35 to 40 minutes a day is fantastic (it's more than I'm getting, shame on me). I wish I was excited the same way every day as I was the day I joined, but that just isn't the case. You will have ups and downs, such is life! Be conscious of why you came here and do the best you can. Look at it this way: you're still exercising, still making healthy home cooked meals, and still seeking support from the Spark community. By my standards you're doing just fine.

    Don't give up. I lose motivation all the time. Last time, it was about for 2 years. Just set mini goals. That's what helps me to stay motivated. Even something as simple as I'm going to drink so many glasses of water today.

Today I joined the SparkPeople 8-Week Diabetes Weight Loss Challenge team with hopes of getting my motivation back.

I don't care about a trophy and I KNOW I can't win the prizes but I need help and hopefully this will start me back on track.

I read someone's blog last week that was a conversation between the devil and herself. i wanted to make one of those blogs too but I didn't want seem like I was copying her. Her blog was excellent!

So I'm off to see what I need to do.
