Cranberry team progress

This week I have logged my food and fitness every day. 3 out of 5 days so far I have eaten within my calorie range and had 8 cups of water. I have made new friends on the team.
Saturday-today (Wednesday) I have gotten up and gone for an outside walk each morning, doing either 2 or 3 laps around the compound. This morning I had walking partners, a group of black draped women were walking along behind me. not sure how many, the black blobs all kind of merged together into a big blob.

Did I bit of online Christmas shopping, I just need to get in contact with a family member to find out if I should get what I saw or not.

It's still pretty depressing here, I just can't kick the blahs.

    sounds like you've had a good solid week and that is so great! you are working so hard and I love to see you feel good about all you are doing for yourself! that did make me laugh about the black blobs tho! hope your blah's go away! but I'm with you there - this isn't my favorite time of year!

Is it really priceless?

I made it to my calorie level today and went 7mg over on fat because I had home made garlic bread.
The bad part is I only got in a 27 minute 1.3 mile walk this morning. I just couldn't get going early enough.

This is my December melt down time. Emotional and mental meltdown. Sunday I had a hard time holding it together just reading peoples happy happy joy joy, tree decorating pages all over the internet. Makes me want to turn the computer off and sit until January but I know I have to deal with it, cry or not.
Did the math:
round trip plane tickets for 2 for 2 weeks - $1,205 PER PERSON(here to point B, pick up passengers, to point C to change planes to point D to change planes to final destination-chance of lost luggage - 95% + 30+ hours from departure to home) Decent airlines with one layover start at $1,500
Groceries for 2 weeks $300
gas for car for 2 weeks traveling to see family - $200
turning up heat in the house - $700 electric bill for 1 month + wood for fireplace + extra propane fill up.
gifts, purchases etc - $500 minimum
I estimated the whole 2 weeks around $5,000
My husband doesn't have any vacation time so that would be 2 weeks off without pay since this company or this country does not recognise Christmas
My passport had to go with my residence permit for renewal and will take at least a month. So I just continue the depression until it passes, trying to smile.

    Ahhhh, I feel the same way!! I spent my monthly budget all the way up to JUNE!!! Try to do something that will make you smile and feel calm. Even if it seems like it will stink! I cancelled my normal routine yesterday and walked around a kitchen store with my husband. We bought a strainer (woohoo!!) and then had an inexpensive but very nice lunch together. I really needed it to recharge my batteries.

I hope today is more positive and relaxing for you.

Made some good recipes tonight

Lemon-Dill Green Beans and Spaghetti Squash with Veggies and Mozzarella (a Spark recipe)
I wanted something different to do with the spaghetti squash that I was thrilled to find last week so I did a search on Spark recipes and found that one. It was so good! The cheese on top made it crisp. This recipe is a keeper if we can find spaghetti squash again.

I also made the Lemon Dill green beans which was another yummy one. I found it before Thanksgiving but I like to try recipes before I feed them to guests. It was really good.


I'm on a 5 day streak for walking outside, not counting my weekends of Thursday and Friday. Today I only got in 2 laps for 1.36 miles in 30 minutes. I just couldn't get my stride on and keep up with it. But I did do a 10 minute Sparkpeople video for core and a 20 minute full body video. No WATP today.

Monday starts another Leslie Sansone Walk challenge that I signed up for so maybe I can keep up with that.
This weeks challenge for the Cranberries team is tracking all my food and keeping track of calories burnt. Plus give team mates a goodie and posting on their pages. GO CRANBERRIES!

    Whoa, that spaghetti squash looks downright wicked! I'm gonna have to check that out. I just posted a pasta fagiole recipe that we named Pasta Fajolly because it looks like Christmas colors when it's done! I posted a pic, too.

    Both of these recipes look delicious! I'm definitely going to try the spaghetti squash recipe, thank you for the picture and recommendation! Apple Cranberry Skillet Pancake

I threw this together today and entered it into my Spark recipes but it didn't "share" on my friend feed. It's in my recipe file. I had a couple apples and cranberries left over so i threw them together and poured pancake batter over it and baked it in the oven. It was pretty good.

My Cranberry Biggest Loser team challenge started today. This week we are supposed to track all our food and meet our calorie level. I know I can meet the tracking thing but I have trouble meeting my calorie levels.

My goal is to keep up with the challenge, log in with the team and do the best I can to try and lose 5 lbs.

Today we moved some furniture, re arranged other furniture, vacuumed, did laundry, cleaned, went up and downstairs several times so I did get in some exercise.

A new week begins tomorrow!

It was a good day today. I got up early for a change and went for a walk. The temp was 73F at 6:45Am but I went back to bed for another hour. When I went out it was 76F. I did 45 minutes walk for 2.06 miles. It wasn't a record but it was pretty good for me. Then this afternoon, I did another 25 minutes of Walk Away the pounds, a SparkPeople Desk workout video and another few dumbbell workouts.
I now set my alarm clock for 7:35AM so I can get up and enjoy more walks.

Made another good turkey salad recipe for dinner that I got from Kraft foods website. It was pretty good!
