W3/D2 Happy Halloween!

Halloween is not celebrated here and it's against the law. There are no American kids on the compound either so no trick or treaters which means NO CANDY!

I started Week 2 of my 10 minute challenge yesterday and it will go well. This week we need to do Sparkpeople videos which is easy because I love the videos. I have some favourites. The scale did move, 0.68 kilos or 1 1/2 pounds, so that is positive.

On November 1 I am joining in on the Leslie Sansone 21 day walk challenge on her facebook page and her website. I would really like to keep up and do the 3 miles so I will do the best I can.

Tonight is also a Halloween party on one of my Cross Stitch groups so I will try to stay up; as long as I can to join the fun, it really helps me feel like I'm in the real world. I do have my Halloween dorm pants, orange halloween t-shirt, socks and under ware on, LOL. I look like a fat orange blob.

UGH, What a slacker I am. Another 2 days with no blog. Plus no exercise except for briskly walking (or trying to) through the grocery store on Thursday then up and down, in and out doing laundry, kitchen clean up, etc. No wonder my weight doesn't budge. But I am trying to give my knee a couple days to feel better.

Found a GREAT recipe that I've made for a couple days, it's a Chicken Shawarma Pitza. Shawarma is a Middle Eastern sandwich, similar to a gyro but NOT the same. I'll have to sit down and enter the recipe one of these days.

So back upstairs tomorrow to start week 3, but I'm really tired of these 5 day exercise weeks.

    you need to take care of you and your knee! perhaps a few days of rest are needed to allow it to mend properly. don't beat yourself up about it. . .just take one day at a time and you will do fine! you are just too hard on yourself! your recipe sounds wonderful! I love chicken anyways! remember to take care of you!!! another day down!

Again I didn't blog for a couple days but I did my exercises.

Today I did 45 minutes WATP for 3 miles. I need to build up to 3 miles because on November 1 I am doing a 21 day Challenge with Leslie Sansone and her Walk At Home group on Facebook and her web site.
Then I did 30 minutes of dumbbell exercises.


Seems like I did make a blog post and it was deleted! I know I didn't go all week without a blog post. What happened?

I didn't get around to blogging yesterday, I was lazy.
Yesterday was the end of my week 1 challenge. I walked around for about 15 minutes while I was talking to my daughter on Skype. I always walk around when I talk on the phone but yesterday I walked, marched like I was doing the Walk Away The Pounds videos. I did raise my heart rate and worked up a sweat. I also walked around for a while afterwards.
As a synopsis for the first week, I did 5 1/2 days out of 7 so I think I did well.

For week 2 we have to find different ways of exercise in everyday life which I usually try to do. I'm going to try 5 minutes in the morning to wake up with.
I really miss my gym buddy, it's so much easier to walk and talk and make the time go faster and work out harder.

Today I had a 10 minute walk to the store on the compound around 2PM, the outside temp was around 110 with no shade. It wasn't all that bad but when i got back I had worked up a sweat. Then while watching a Private Practice marathon, I did a 30 minute work out with my stability ball and dumbbells. My knee was still bothering me so I did the upper body workout.

I'm still determined and I will keep going at it!

    good for you girl! you had a great week! and should be so proud of your progress! you made a plan and are sticking too it even with a sore knee which I hope starts feeling better for you soon! take care of that knee! and let me tell you I miss you more! the gym sucks!! and I heard through the grape vine that they have been sold - and no one is sure if they are going to even keep the place open - they were saying that the equipment would get fixed if they keep it open - my guess is it has to be a write off but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

D6/W1 My birthday

Today is my 53rd birthday but that is no excuse to not to exercise. I did not exercise today because my knee hurts. I'm not usually a whiner but it hurts, it feels like it's swollen but I can't tell if it is or not, I want to give it a rest but I also don't want to break my streak. I WILL do some upper body exercises on Friday.
I did walk around the grocery store for an hour today and got up and down doing laundry.

We had a fair Indian meal for dinner, we've had better. We had our usual chicken jalfrezi, dahl (lentils) naan bread but this time we tried the curry vegetables. The vegetables were good the the jalfrezi wasn't all that great this time.

Oh, I did get a present today! My Annie kitty brought me a bird she caught and she was damn proud of herself for doing it! She pranced around for a few minutes then ate it.
I also sat and stitched tonight and may stitch later too.

I'm glad you took the day off and rested that knee a bit! but knowing you - you got in your time to keep your challenge strong! you are a machine! sorry your dinner wasn't super but glad you enjoyed anyways! you are a real inspiration and I'm so glad your day turned out nice!! stay strong girl and remember to take care of you!
