Thank you friends!

Friday, November 05, 2010

Thank you SparkFriends who commented on my blog. As soon as we can find a dr. or hospital that will accept our cheap insurance I will try and get back to have things checked out.

You are right Holly, I do need to give my knee a rest, as soon as I think it's ok and feeling better, I exercise and mess it up again. Really annoying, guess I won't be doing that video with the resistance bands for lower body anymore.

I will try with shorter exercises and see if that helps.

I'm glad to hear you'll be visiting a doctor! I've had two bum knees for years and haven't been able to put them through anything more strenuous than walking and the lower impact Leslie Sansone DVD's - if your knee was recently hurt, I would definitely baby it - you want it to heal up! Take care of yourself. :)

Try some balance exercises to strengthen your thigh muscles. Don't baby the injured leg, that only lets the muscles get week!

In a funk or just burnt out?

Thursday, November 04, 2010

I don't know what happened but I don't like it. I came back to the land that time forgot thinking since I can't drive, can't work, don't have kids that I could get some major exercise in and guess what? Nope, I just can't get motivated to do it. I can go for 2-3 days then bleah, I don't want to. I don't know if it's because no matter what I eat, don't eat, weather I do cardio, don't do cardio the scale doesn't budge and my clothes don't fit any better. YES I know I could be gaining/losing muscle/fat but I still have this huge pregnant belly even though there is no way in hell I could be pregnant-trust me on this!

I may not my calorie level every day and that may be the key but I have days when I just don't want to eat, I know I should because I'm diabetic but I am just not hungry. I also don't drink my 8 cups of water a day, I just flat out can't get that much water down, that makes me bloat up too and feel miserable.
I know with upping my thyroid medication that caused weight gain but I'm also moving more since I got back here. I just wish the temps would cool down enough so I can walk outside. I'm a wuss when it comes to walking in 83F heat with no shade at 8AM.

I am in 3 different challenges, one with Leslie Sansone on Facebook and her web site, the Official 10 Minute Exercise challenge team, and another challenge with a good friend and I still can't get motivated to move. The one thing I do do, is when I get up do cook or clean the kitchen or clean the house, I do it faster and with more stretching, lunging, squats but I don't really count that, I know it's moving and burning calories but not enough to count here.

So there you have it my friends, my confession, I'm just lazy and I need to get over it and get up, move and plan my meals. Maybe I need to take a day to sit down with my husband and my diabetic recipes and make menus and exercise plans like my friend Holly did. I know for my health and my medical conditions I can't just sit every day and get fatter.
If I'm not around for a couple days, I've stepped back and trying to get energy back. Plus it's my weekend here in hell and I'm expecting friends.

You aren't lazy!! You're making an adjustment to the temperature, to not having your exercise buddy, to being on the other side of the earth, and maybe your levels need checking. It could be something simple that you can adjust.

I think a recheck is in order. It does sound like it's a reaction to med changes, and you are NOT lazy. This too shall pass my dear, and in the meantime we're all here to help you. emoticon

you are not lazy!! far from that my friend! you are in a funk and it has grabbed you good - but time to break out and re-evaluate - baby steps too will help - you tend to go over and above in all you do - I know you can do it - but it will lead to the funkies and get you down - and don't forget you've had that issue with your knee too - give youself a couple of days and see how you feel - then baby steps - check your calories and preplan a week with in the ranges and with what you can have - then see how you feel - I know you can do this! I totally believe in you - you are such a huge inspiration!!! so just take care of you girl! and enjoy your company too.

I know how you feel. I have been feeling like this since I lost my job in March. I tired to keep my momentum, but it wasn't working. Somehow, I managed to watch my caloric intake and keep the weight steady. I finally got a part-time job at the end of September and I still don't feel like exercising. I know that I HAVE to, but finding the motivation has been difficult.

Like me, you have done it before, you can do it again. Keep trying and I know that you can do it!!!

I don't think you are lazy! You are being too hard on yourself!
You could start over again at level 1. I found I had to do that a couple of times and it really helped me getting back on track. Good luck to you! emoticon emoticon

You don't sound lazy to me - lazy people don't clean house, let alone clean house while doing "more stretching, lunging, squats!" :) I agree with Grammyyeac, there sounds like there's something going on with you and you might want to go visit your doctor again. I don't know anything about thyroid meds, but having all these symptoms at the same time you've upped the dosage sounds a little suspect to me... I hope your friends cheer you up! Enjoy the visit and I hope you feel better soon!

    Ugh!

Have you talked with a doc recently? Lack of appetite, general bleah feeling -- they might be related to medical changes, not just a mental funk.

W3/D4

Tuesday, November 02, 2010

I've slacked in posting again.
Those 1 1/2 pounds that disappeared the other day, reappeared today so I have to try harder.

On Monday I was flat out lazy and didn't do any cardio except for about 5 minutes of jogging in place and up and down the hallway while waiting for supper to cook. I also did another 5 minutes of counter pushups, hip flexors, t-stand, and several others. Who knew that instead of sitting in front of the computer while waiting for supper to cook, I could be in the kitchen doing exercises.

Today I got back upstairs and exercised.
I started with a vigorous 10 minutes of scrubbing the bathroom
45 minutes Walk Away The pounds video
5 minutes of upper body stretchie band exercises for the Leslie Sansone 21 day challenge
10 minute Firm, Fit and Fired up video core exercises
10 minutes boot camp video for abs.
I felt like I got a good workout!

After being lazy on Monday and getting back upstairs today, I felt like I had more energy to work out. It makes me wonder if I am one of those who can only work out 2 days, take 1 day off then 2 more days etc. I really don't want to test it, I really want to keep going as long as I can. I know I should listen to my body and go accordingly but I really need to dispose of these unwanted pounds.

you need to do what works best for you - perhaps try a zig zag of workouts - have one day of really light stuff and then the next day a bit harder and the next day even harder then back to a light day - so your body can get some rest in there before you kick it again. . . and that way you would stay moving but on a lighter level - it may work for you. and may help keep your knee happy too. I know with all your crazy food issues due to your diabetes and thyroid but have you ever really looked at the calories? you really work out so hard I just can't seem to wrap my head around why you don't drop those lbs like crazy! there has to be something wrong or out of whack big time!! it really is crazy!! so keep on plugging away girl! you are such a great inspiration!!! miss you!!

emoticon Hope you had a fun Halloween - I listened a bit to that radio station, it was fun (especially the oldies!!)... We had THREE kids come to the house tonight - luckily, Peter picked candy he liked.. I was thinking my illness was well-timed, since it's made me lose my appetite for chocolate! So I'm safe, at least for tonight...

W3/D2 Happy Halloween!

Sunday, October 31, 2010

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Halloween is not celebrated here and it's against the law. There are no American kids on the compound either so no trick or treaters which means NO CANDY!

I started Week 2 of my 10 minute challenge yesterday and it will go well. This week we need to do Sparkpeople videos which is easy because I love the videos. I have some favourites. The scale did move, 0.68 kilos or 1 1/2 pounds, so that is positive.

On November 1 I am joining in on the Leslie Sansone 21 day walk challenge on her facebook page and her website. I would really like to keep up and do the 3 miles so I will do the best I can.

Tonight is also a Halloween party on one of my Cross Stitch groups so I will try to stay up; as long as I can to join the fun, it really helps me feel like I'm in the real world. I do have my Halloween dorm pants, orange halloween t-shirt, socks and under ware on, LOL. I look like a fat orange blob.

Happy Halloween, have a super evening!
