My Daddy

Sunday, June 20, 2010

Happy Father's day to my Daddy. Yes, you may think it's childish that at 52 I still call him my daddy, but he is my daddy. He is 90, he is on oxygen 24/7 but can take it off for an hour. He has heart surgeries, survived prostate cancer, he's a diabetic but he's still going. he may have slowed down and doesn't drive anymore but he's still here and I love him. He is a pround Grandpa to 3 grand daughters & 1 grandson and a very proud GREAT Grampa to 3 grandsons. He and my mother have been married for 63 years.
Here he is with my mom and his father's day gift which is one of those Edible Bouquets.

The bouquet is one of those Edible Arrangements, it is the Melon basket. My family said it was VERY sweet and delicious!

Interesting tidbits for travelers/Got a Spark Package today!

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

I found this article from Real Simple magazine VERY interesting since I travel internationally twice a year.

I got TWO Spark packages today! As a Team Leader of one state team and Co-Leader of another, I ordered a Spark Rally Team kit and it came today, Lots of interesting goodies in it for my team members who are active with my team and attend our Rally on the 26th of June. I got one **** ****** *****, 6 ****** ***** ***, 10 ****** ******, 8 neat *** ******, 6 ****** ******* plus lots of Business cards to hand out or leave here and there. If you are on my teams and you would lilke to know what the above is, you will have to come to the Rally on June 26 to find out!
Plus I ordered a Picnic blanket, another SparkPeople t-shirt, and I got a drawstring tote bag free.
The Picnic blanket is ok not what I expected from SparkPeople quality but I guess it will work but I won't order another one. I thought it would be bigger. The draw string bag will work well for a gym bag.

It was a GREAT day today!

GREAT roadtrip today!

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

I really like my New Hampshire road trips especially when I meet my friends. Today I drove down to a cross stitch shop in North Hampton to meet my friend. We browsed a bit then went for lunch. We went to a Lebanese place that we like. I was good and had a chicken shawarma and hummus which wasn't bad. We sat and talked then went our separate ways.
I went to a shopping center and just browsed around for a couple hours then walked a shopping center for another hour just walking.

I feel like I did get in some exercise today when I was walking.
Tomorrow it will be back to the gym

Thanks for sharing this article. I was cute to read but I don't think I will be doing this. The thought of my shoes and food in the same freezer kind of turns my stomach. I think I will try the baking soda trick.

Vacation so far

Thursday, June 10, 2010

It is good to be back at the gym! Holly makes the time go so much faster and really helps me stay accountable. It is so much easier and so much more fun to have someone to work out with and ask advice. We vent, share, worry and laugh. I may whine somedays about having to drag myself from my cozy warm couch to the gym but I do feel so much batter after a workout. Thank you Holly!
I really wish some people would use gym etiquette though. There was a man come in and start running on the treadmill next to me. All well and fine until he got to going and sweating and STINKING! OMG did he stink, and the grunting just from the treadmill. I do realize that you need to put some effort into working out but enough grunting and if you know you are going to sweat and stink, please take precautions before hand! I had to stop my exercise and go into another room to get away from the smell.

I did get my Wii the other day but it is still sitting in the boxes, I haven't taken it out and hooked it up. Most days I'm just blah, sitting on the couch with the remote flipping through the tv channels because I CAN and they are all in English and lately it's chilly, damp and rainy.

So that is my week!

Yes the time does go so much faster with a great buddy! thanks buddy! and I'm so glad I ended up late and didn't have to be there for that! OMG it is terrible sometimes and I'm sure he has no clue at all - perhaps if we spray him with a can of lysol??? lol he would get the hint?? lol see you tonight!

Robin are there any English shows on TV where you usually live?
I can't imagine our gym having that. We go to the Y and it's marvelous there. People also wipe down the machines. I stopped a man the other day from sitting down on a machine because I hadn't wiped it first. He seemed happy that I was so considerate. Maybe we should send some of our manners up your way. Hope
