The past couple days haven't gone so well. Saturday DH left on his business trip but I was able to get the upstairs vacuumed but used the ShopVac. Cleaned up the cat's "room" and my exercise room, the hallway and 1/2 the stairs. Then the yucky feeling started. Woke up Sunday and felt miserable, sneezing, runny nose, stuffed up, head & face hurt. I thought is was the flu or a miserable sinus infection so instead of saving that whole chicken for crockpot sitcky chicken I made chicken stock/broth and had soup. I took a Benadryl tablet and went to bed.
Today is better but the nose is still stuffy and a little achy. I'm not giving in today, I gotta push forward and clean and get in some exercise time. Only managed 10 minutes on the treadmill yesterday. If I don't keep going, I will stop altogether and not start again and I do NOT want that at all. So today after I make Banana bread muffins it's off to resume cleaning.

    Sorry that you are not feeling the best. About TV, we still don't have one. Got bored with TV so we decided to try out not having one for a while. I've been listening to the radio station from back home while doing things in the house. Must say I've really enjoyed it.

How long have you been a SparkPerson? Since July 15, 2008

How did you hear about SparkPeople? I got an e-mail from MyPoints

What does your username mean? My initials and zip code (I might change that now though)

How many teams do you belong to? 12 plus a private family team. That is the right amount for me to be able to be active in my teams.

Have you ever had a team get together? I sure have! they are LOTS of fun

How many Spark Friends do you have? 77 - I don't see the point of having 100's, I like to KNOW my friends.

Have you ever met any Spark friends in person? Yes I have!

Do you use any of the Spark exercise videos? All the time!

Do you use the Spark fitness plan or do you do your own routine? A little of both.

Do you follow the Spark meal plan? Sometimes but I'm a diabetic so I have to be careful

Do you have a Favourite Spark People recipe? Mexican Crockpot chicken & Sticky Chicken YUMMMM!

Do you have The Spark book and have you read it? I have 2 hard copies and 1 on my iPod. I haven't read the hard copy book yet as it is waiting for me at my daughters house in the USA

Have you ever bought anything from the Spark store? I sure have and I really like the Spark products.

How many people have you gotten to join the Spark family? 20, but not all of them used my name as a reference.

Do you have any family members on Spark People? Yes, my daughter and niece.

What's your favorite SparkPeople area? (team boards, General message boards, articles, etc) The teams are important to me.

Are you a SparkPeople addict? You bet!

How much time to you get to spend on the site each day/week? Probably 4 hours but I always have a browser window open to my start page just in case.....

How many Spark points to you average each day? I try for at least 100 but on weekends only get around 80

Have you ever GOOGLED your username? Try it! YES I did and every single thing I have done shows up. I might set my page to friends only.

Make yourself a priority

This is today's SparkPeople 2010 Daily Desk Calendar note for April 16.

Make yourself a priority. Are you always doing for others but neglecting yourself? Your goals are important and you deserve to take time for yourself each day to achieve them. Give yourself the attention and love that you need!

I do this every day. It's just me & DH now, no kids and I don't work so I have 8 hours each day to myself to pamper and exercise and that is just what I do.

On the happy side, I got my plane ticket on Thursday, woo hoo! I can't wait to get home to New Hampshire for 4 1/2 months of vacation. 40 days/6 weeks and counting

I missed my sweat!

I know, how can I miss sweating, but I guess I did. First of all I don't sweat much when I work out no matter how hard I push. I'm not one of those people you see dripping sweat everywhere and running down their face, neck etc. I get damp but don't pour sweat. For awhile I was doing my cardio with the Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds videos. Some were easy and some were a challenge. I stuck with the challenge video for 2 weeks then when I got burnt out I went back to using another of her videos that was slower. Eventually I went back to her beginning video, the original 2 mile walk that I would restart when it ended. Then I decided no more, I had to push. So for the last 2 days I went back to her 5 mile Challenge walk and I really feel better because I worked up a rolling sweat! Then after reading the article yesterday that I posted on my blog about the Lift Heavier Weights with Fewer Reps for Toning and Fat Loss, I picked up the 8.8 pound weights and used those. That was a workout and it felt good. Today I did another 51 minute challenge walk with Leslie, 2 bootcamp videos and 30 minutes of exercises and I was sweating good again and it felt better! I think if I sweat good enough, I feel like I did something.

42 more days until I am back home in New Hampshire and I can join the gym again since last year when I got home, it rained for 6 straight weeks. I'll have my gym buddy again (who is also my Spark Team leader)and she really helps the workout go so much faster. 42 more days until I get to hug and kiss my son, grandson, daughter and other grandson, I can't wait!
Then we'll have our New Hampshire Spark Teams Meet & Greet (ALL NEW HAMPSHIRE SPARK TEAMS and ALL NEW HAMPSHIRE SPARK PEOPLE are invited to join) so we can put faces to names and share secrets and tips and good healthy food.

    Way to go Robin!!! that is one awesome workout - I think you used up your energy and mine too today! WOW! just remember to take care of you and don't over due it too much! but every once in a while it sure does feel good to get in an awesome day like that one! and Heck with the family! I get a hug too! lol we are getting closer!! have a super weekend - I'm jealous and want the weekend here too!

    Great hints & tips! Thank you!! I will definitely need to work on getting my strength training up to 3 times a week from 2 times a week. I am sure it would make a heck of a difference!

Although, 2 times is 2 times more than I did 2 months ago!
