I have permission

Saturday, March 13, 2010

I got permission to post the SparkPeople Daily Desk calendar notes. As long as I only post them on SparkPeople.

March 13/14:
Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday. Springing forward (losing an hour) may disrupt your sleep for up to a few weeks. Try to stick with your sleep routine so you can adapt to the time change more easily.

How can that short time disrupt sleep for weeks? When I go from here to home, I fly across 8 time zones in 20 some hours. When people who can't deal with 1 hour can say that, then they have a reason to complain. Go to bed earlier, sleep 1/2 hour longer.
They don't do the daylight savings time thing here, it always stays the same. So now we will only be 7 hours ahead of Yankee Stadium!

Haha! And when you factor in the earthquake's having knocked the earth atilt on its axis, God only knows what daylight savings time will do to us this year! emoticon

Friday/Sunday

Friday, March 12, 2010

Hmmmm, I notice there is a new not below this message box about posting articles and pictures. I wonder if certain bloggers will adhere to that message. I know several that don't care if they post this stuff or not.

Today's SparkPeople Daily Desk Calendar note - oh wait, I don't think I can post that anymore. Oh well sorry. Who do I get permission from to post it?

DH bought me a new set of dumbbells yesterday. The kind that you can add your own weight to. I'll get upstairs later to try them out.

Tuesday/Thursday

Tuesday, March 09, 2010

Today is like Thursday in the real world, the day before our weekend starts.

Today's SparkPeople Daily Desk Calendar note is:
Eat 4-6 servings of vegetables daily. High in nutrients and low in calories, veggies can help diabetics, stroke and heart disease, and help you reach and maintain a healthy weight. One serving is 1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw.

I must have had a good lower body workout yesterday because I am sore. I did squats, lunges, leg kicks and raises. I must have done something right. Tomorrow I know my upper body will be sore from the workout today.

How does your sandwich stack up?

Monday, March 08, 2010

I subscribe to the Hungry Girl's newsletter. HIGHLY recommended by the way! Today's news letter contained a link to Wonder Bread web site where you can make a virtual sandwich to see the nutritional information. Several bread selections, fruits, vegetables, condiments etc. I wish I could remember all the strange concoctions my son used to make when he was a teenager. They could curl your toes.
SparkPeople could do a blog post on this!

I did get up early today, went outside to see how warm it was and even by 7:45AM it was already too warm for my walk, so it's back to the treadmill. :( Come on June, so I can get home and walk outside.

Sunday/Tuesday

Sunday, March 07, 2010

Today is like Tuesday in the real world.
Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance Calendar is:
Energize with exercise. A recent study found that 20 minutes of low-intensity activity can increase energy levels by 20 p;ercent! Who needs coffee? Try an a.m. workout instead.

I didn't do much exercise today at all. It was too warm when I got up late today. I was trying to clean out my e-mail because I was looking for something important. Never found it.

Last night I went to bed at 11PM, RARE for me. I had to drag myself out of bed at 8AM and I've been tired all day. Despite the fact that SparkPeople says that you NEED 8 hours of sleep a night, I'm more tired when I do. I can do fine on 6-7 hours, too bad I can't get credit for it with the points, but you have to have 8 hours.

I wish I could get 6 hours sleep but that is very rare for me. Some nights I manage to get 4 or so, but many nights I probably get around 2 to 3 hours (bad insomnia!)

Sometimes I get so run down that end up spending a day in bed napping most of the day, and actually feel a bit better the next day, but it never lasts.

Hope you get back on track and are feeling better today.

I do best with 6 hours of sleep; 8 means I wake up groggy and stumble around all morning.

    Good Day Robin,
I know what you mean, but I think it said seven hours night sleep.
At least on the spark points where one does trivia. Gosh I stink at trivia
yet have to get enough right to get on the name board lol
it is fun anyways.
most of my sleeping now is done in the daytime when my husband is home.
now i have to track my exercises, haven't done that yet.
have a great day my friend,
hugs,paula:)
