Today's SparkPeople Daily Desk calendar note says:

Wednesday Feb. 24:
Eat A snack before bed. It's a myth that eating late causes weight gain. As long as you don't overeat, you can enjoy a bedtime snack without worry. And it's true: Warm milk does help you fall asleep (thanks to it's tryptophan)!

    had sleepytime tea before bed.. so wonder if adding warm milk to it will give it an extra boost? i try to avoid eating after a certain time at night.. but might try something before bedtime.. thanks! emoticon

Kickin' it up

I've done well for 3 days now with the kickin' it up. I have worked my muscles to the fatigue point and I can feel it. So now the next step will be sit down this weekend and make up a chart/plan to make the exercise transition easier and smoother.

Today's Sparkpeople Daily Deks calendar note is;
Feb. 23:
Take the stairs. Skip the elevators, escalators and other "people movers' and move your own body. You'll burn calories and avoid lines in airports, malls and offices.

I made a great mixed bean salad for supper. I added the recipe to my to my Spark recipes. I just put stuff in a bowl and mixed it up.

    Today you'll have to do it for me. Walked the dogs early. Then walked walmart for an hour
. Somehow that kicked in the neuropathy even with the meds.

I was browsing preview pictures of the new cross stitch releases from the Nashville Market show and found several to put on my wish list:

So I'm thinking to save the pictures and make that my goal wish. If I lose another 5 lbs, I will allow myself to buy them. Bye bye, off to get near my goal

Trying to "kick it up a notch"

After using 2KG & 3KG dumbbells for over a year now for my strength training and not seeing any progress, I asked my husband last night what was I doing wrong. I am not pushing it enough and lifting to the point of muscle failure or fatigue. So I am going to push it up and try harder. I did that today and now I know the difference of "just doing 1 set of 10-12 reps" and muscle fatigue. I pushed it up to 15 reps for 2 sets and really noticed the difference. So now after my arms rest on Monday, I'll give it another go on Tuesday. He has been doing this for several years, he's by no means a pro or a hulk but he does it to stay healthy.

After last weeks scale peak at 150 again, the numbers have gone back down to 148 today. Not really noticeable to me by any means and I'm still really discouraged and feel like a blimp. Yesterday was the first day in over a week that I managed to get down 8 cups of water again and I am so puffed up from that. (No, it's not PMS or anything like that, I don't get that anymore) If I get 8 or more hours of sleep, I'm exhausted and worthless the whole day. 6-7 is ok but I'm still tired. It doesn't matter what time I got to bed or get up, I'm just blah.

    You can reread and rearead the Spark to get resparked. It is well worn in my house. It is one day at a time and do the next right thing.

    I am feeling the same way. I feel I need to kick things up a notch also. I am going to try it starting this week and see what happens. The weight has gone down a little more, but the inches are not going anywhere. It is frustrating, I agree.
