Bootcamp-January 19

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

I love today's video, it's my favorite, I do it frequently so it's easy for me.
For the Challenge, I had a whole grain cereal for breakfast and whole grain bread for lunch. I only eat whole grains due to diabetes.
I also did 35 minutes of Walk Away The Pounds for the cardio part.

The wind isn't blowing today but there is still sand in the air. It's hazy and overcast but not as bad as it was yesterday.

Daily Desk Calendar note-TURN OFF THE TV

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Spark People's daily desk calendar note for January 19:

Turn off the TV. Women who watch 43 -86 minutes of TV per day had higher blood pressure and triglyceride levels than those who watched less--even though they exercised regularly, according to one study.
No wonder I have high blood pressure, it's the tv's fault. Maybe I should give my tv the Diovan I have to take! My tv is on more for noise while I do other things than it is for watching.

Don't they consider the TV is still on even though it is for noise only because your subconscious mind is watching. Turn on a radio for noise instead you will be more apt to dance and that counts for extra pounds gone. Have a nice day.

Sandstorm in Jeddah

Monday, January 18, 2010

This is a short video clilp of our sandstorm in Jeddah today. It doesn't really capture the blowing sand and blowing trees well.
It will be a couple days before I can go for an outside walk again, all this sand will be in the air for days.

At least when it snows here it at least drops to the ground to deal with the sand flying around for days in definately something I would not want to do. Hope it clears up fast and have a nice day.

wow! That is something else. I think staying inside is a good thing during a terrible storm like that.

Wow...makes you appreciate your own kind of weather! The poor people and animals caught outside. The sound is amazing. Stay safe!

Robin, What happens to cars left outside in a sandstorm? Does the wind blow hard enough to pit the paint job? Hard enough to blow sand into the engine compartments?

I know here a driving snowstorm can put enough snow under the hood to wet down the electrical system and keep a car from starting.

Bootcamp Day 14

Saturday, January 16, 2010

I finally got back to doing the bootcamp workout today and it was good. I did the ab workout video. I couldn't quite do all of them but I modified a couple moves. I also did the bonus challenge of a brisk 15 minute walk but only walked for 13 minutes which was one lap or .78 miles. That felt good too!

I also did 38 minutes of Walk Away The Pounds video, 30 minutes additional core and strength training exercises.

My foot is ok but I still have to be careful with it, I did ok with the walking and the WATP video. I do keep it elevated when I'm sitting.

Daily desk calendar note

Friday, January 15, 2010

Today's entry on SparkPeople's daily desk calendar is:
Post your written goals where you'll see them often--on your comp;uter, in a picture frame on your desk, as a bookmark, and in your wallet. These reminders will help you stay focused and on track. That is just what it says in The Spark book!

My foot is better today thank goodness. I don't think I could have sat on this couch another day! I will get in some form of exercise today too!

Let's all have a GREAT day!

I'm going to do that right now. I love this idea. I'm going to add it to my computer so it pops up immediately when I log on. Thanks for the tip. I'm reading SP too.
