No energy today - edited

Ugh, I have no energy today, no ambition at all. I over slept, woke up at 9:30 and wanted to go back to bed by 10:30. I even got 9 hours sleep. I know I HAVE to push myself if I want to this to work so I will be out there walking at 4:30PM today even if it's only for a 13 minute 1/2 mile.

Spot and I stitched today. Spot is our cat, the biggest spoiled rotten baby ever, he NEEDS to be held like a baby to sleep, he NEEDS to be held on your shoulder to cuddle and he NEEDS all the attention inbetween. I'm NOT the one that spoiled him, DH did. I love my stitching time so no cats on my lap when I'm stitching. But today, oh NO, DH is away on a business trip so Spot HAD to take his nap on my lap while I was trying to stitch. I did get a picture with my cell phone, I"ll have to edit it and post it in my gallery.

My blood sugar level seems to be staying between 130-158. It's been at those levels for 3 days now no matter what I do. I'm still new to this diabetes thing and still trying to get it under control.

I am trying not to get too overly excited right now but I think the scales said I've lost another 2 lbs this week. Woo Hoo. shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. That would put me at 1 lb off my original goal of 140 but I have now moved that goal to 135.

Well I did do my 27 minutes of walking, I did my mile & 1/3 plus10 minutes worth of strength exercises.

    I was told there were 2 things that help blood sugar levels. One is cinnamon, and the other is chromium. You might ask you Dr. if its Ok. I take 400mcg a day to help keep my levels low. You might try it to see if it works for you. Hope

What a GREAT day!

Today is my 1 year anniversary of quitting smoking! I quit smoking on November 15, 2007, it was the Great American Smokeout day. I did use Chantix to help. I may have taken a few puffs on a couple cigarettes but I didn't smoke the whole thing. I smoked MAYBE 3 cigarettes between November 15 07 & Jan 1, 08 but NOTHING since then. I am VERY PROUD OF MYSELF! Too bad I can't celebrate with a nice piece of chocolate cake, but that's not on my diet anymore.

I did my 30 minute walk and 15 mintues of strength training today, before 11AM. Why can't I count doing dumb bell weight lifting as cardio? It does make my heart rate go up.

    How cute. I can remember when I quit smoking 4 1/2 years ago. I had asked my deacon to pray for me since I hd lost my will power to quit. He went and got 2 more deacons and they prayed for me and annoited me with oil and I gave up all will power to smoke again. The next night I smoked 1 cigarette, a half, and I said this isn't really quitting unless you give it up completely. So that night I decided if I could make it 1 day I could make it another, so I took it 1 day at a time and here I am today. As for the dumbbells, it may make your heartrae go up but its muscle in your arms. If thats what you'rre doing. You arn't really losing fat like cardio. Maybe that can help you. YOu're on the right track keep it up. YOu will also find that the cardio will help your asthma if you have it. It will help you breathe easier. Hope Happy Birthday to your son.

Today is my baby's birthday. He is a whole 27 YEARS old, LOL. He's still my baby. I sent him a blood pressure monitor for his birthday so he can keep an eye on it.

I only walked Sat, Sun & Tuesday this week so far. DH has been on a business trip and when he goes away, I do my deep down whole house cleaning. Moving furniture, vacuuming, scrubbing bathrooms etc. I even managed to get in some stitching!
I have managed to loose 1 lb which I'll take.
My internet wasn't working right on Wednesday. I was able to log in but it wouldn't go anywhere.
Onward and downward, weight wise that is!

    If I lost a pound I would take it too. I was up 5 lbs. and managed to lose it all in 2 days. I think it was water weight gain. Also you may be gaining muscle so don't forget to check measurements. Hope

    I hope your BABY JAMES has a great birthday. The Scorpio man is often quiet and has a hard time expressing his feelings in words, but he can "blow up" and REALLY be sarcastic, so he needs to learn to "let off steam" a little at a time.

Another new week for me. Today I walked 38 minutes and did 15 minutes worth of strength training, well actually a 15 minute work out with my stability ball & jump rope. I feel energized!
I was very good this week with my eating. I print out weekly menus & recipes from the ChangingDiabetes-us.com site to help me control this diabetes thing. I guess I still haven't gotten it right because a lot of times my numbers are still high as they are in the morning, up around 140 or so.

Last week I managed to walk Sun, Mon, Tue & Wed along with extra exercises on a couple of those days due to the fact I couldn't walk on Saturday because of a sandstorm here. I lost a grand total of 1 lb (after gaining 2 back so I guess I lost 3 lbs total)
I REFUSE to GIVE UP!

    Don't forget to measure yourself because you could be losing fat and not know it. Even if you lost a lb. and gained muscle you still could have lost inches. Check those too. Congrats. Hope

Well so much for starting my week off with an invigorating walk today. The wind is blowing like crazy and the sand is kicking up, start of sandstorm season. My nose is stuffed lup one minute, running the next, sneezing, itchy eyes, UGH!
I was a BADDDDDDDDD girl last night! We don't have trick or treat, Halloween is forbidden, NOT ALLOWED here for cultural & religous reasons BUT I have this thing for PEEPS so I brought back my Halloween Peeps and while I was having fun at one of my online Cross Stitch groups Halloween party I had 3 of them. BADDDDD RobinI was going to do extra walking today but I guess I'll have to do extra strength training today instead.
Edited to add that I am American, married to an American but we live in the Middle East where my DH works.

    I can't imagine where you live that it would all be forbidden. A little candy won't hurt you. Its when you gorge out on it that you suffer. the calories you consumed probably wasn't enough to impact your weight. Hurrah for trying to make a difference. Hope
Are you overseas where its still hot? You sound like you're in the desert.
