Friday the 13th

Friday, November 13, 2009

Happy Friday the 13th. I hope you all have a "lucky" day.
Today is my son's birthday, he was born at 2:55AM 28 years ago today.

I'm fixing a pseudo Thanksgiving dinner, roast chicken with cajun spice rub, oven roasted potatoes with a kick, green beans & red peppers. I will have to put in the recipes for the nutrition information but they look fairly decent. If they turn out ok, that will be part of our Thanksgiving menu.

SparkPeople daily desk calendar note

Friday, November 13, 2009

Stay active. Don't mistake being "busy" for being "active". You still need to exercise at least 30 minutes each day. Break it up into a few smaller sessions throughout the day of you're pressed for time.

I CAN do this again!

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I know I can and I will. I may not get 90 minutes of exercise 7 days a week but I am determined to succeed! I feel like if I can get in at least 30 minutes of some kind of exercise every day, then I will be satisfied. Even though this is my weekend, I did 60 minutes of workouts plus 30 minutes of house cleaning today.

A wasted day

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

I didn't do much today, cleaned up, fought with the stupid vacuum again but finally got it fixed and got a workout vacuuming the living room, dining room and hallway. Then more back and forth cleaning.
Wednesdays are the start of our weekend here, like Friday in the real world. He goes to a friends house for a couple hours in the evening and they usually get take out food of some sort. Tonight he went to Burger King and got me a Whopper jr. chicken sandwich. It was ok and I guess it really wasn't as bad for me as a real whopper would have been.

Last night I was so tired of sneezing and my nose was so sore from blowing and blowing so I took an Actifed. Not even an hour later I started feeling so woozy and wobbly. I laid down on the couch and fell asleep. The time was 8:30. I got up around 9:30 and went to bed, didn't wake up until 9AM this morning. Guess I won't be taking that again but at least I quit sneezing and blowing my nose.

Maybe the extra sleep is what you need to get back on Saudi time. Maybe you'll be able to get out and walk before the day gets too warm!

At least you found something to help you sleep, if you need it.

Another full workout

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I'm getting better again at getting the job done. I'm still only at the 2 1/2 mile Walk Away The Pounds pace which depending on which video I do can be between 35-45 minutes then I go to a bootcamp video alternating days of upper body, core and lower body then I do some extra stretches or exercises. Depending on how I feel, I'll give the manual treadmill a spin for 5-10 mintues. I've been doing this for a week now along with the 8 cups of water a day. I haven't lost any weight but I have lost 3/4 of an inch around my waist and hips. Whopee!

I was able to sit down and get in an hour of stitching today too along with bathroom cleaning. Exciting life, eh?

Congratulations on a job well done. (And where would we be without clean bathrooms?)
