Another new week for me. Today I walked 38 minutes and did 15 minutes worth of strength training, well actually a 15 minute work out with my stability ball & jump rope. I feel energized!
I was very good this week with my eating. I print out weekly menus & recipes from the ChangingDiabetes-us.com site to help me control this diabetes thing. I guess I still haven't gotten it right because a lot of times my numbers are still high as they are in the morning, up around 140 or so.

Last week I managed to walk Sun, Mon, Tue & Wed along with extra exercises on a couple of those days due to the fact I couldn't walk on Saturday because of a sandstorm here. I lost a grand total of 1 lb (after gaining 2 back so I guess I lost 3 lbs total)
I REFUSE to GIVE UP!

    Don't forget to measure yourself because you could be losing fat and not know it. Even if you lost a lb. and gained muscle you still could have lost inches. Check those too. Congrats. Hope

Well so much for starting my week off with an invigorating walk today. The wind is blowing like crazy and the sand is kicking up, start of sandstorm season. My nose is stuffed lup one minute, running the next, sneezing, itchy eyes, UGH!
I was a BADDDDDDDDD girl last night! We don't have trick or treat, Halloween is forbidden, NOT ALLOWED here for cultural & religous reasons BUT I have this thing for PEEPS so I brought back my Halloween Peeps and while I was having fun at one of my online Cross Stitch groups Halloween party I had 3 of them. BADDDDD RobinI was going to do extra walking today but I guess I'll have to do extra strength training today instead.
Edited to add that I am American, married to an American but we live in the Middle East where my DH works.

    I can't imagine where you live that it would all be forbidden. A little candy won't hurt you. Its when you gorge out on it that you suffer. the calories you consumed probably wasn't enough to impact your weight. Hurrah for trying to make a difference. Hope
Are you overseas where its still hot? You sound like you're in the desert.

A new week!

This is the start of a new week here, Saturday here is like Monday in the real world. Too bad I can't get my Spark calendar to start on my week, that would work out so much better for me.
Anyway a new week, more walking. At least the temps are going down so it will only be around 92 or so when I walk this afternoon.
I did get a new scale that weighs in kilos and lbs so at least I can read it. It still says 65 kilos and looks like it says 143 lbs. Still no change in inches around though.
DH wanted some of that cabbage soup so I made a HUGE pot. I can have that for lunches and before supper but I won't rely on that totaly for my food.

ONWARD AND UPWARD THIS WEEK! (Actually I'm hoping downward with the weight, LOLOL)
Saturday - 1.57 miles + stretching - 30 minutes
Sunday - 1.53 miles + stretching - 31 minutes - 143 lbs (AM weight) 148 BCG @ 9:15AM

Thank you everyone who stopped by to wish me a Happy Birthday and leave me a goodie! WOW, you all are a VERY supportive bunch and I truly appreciate it! Now I know why I spend more time on Spark People than I do on my Cross Stitch message boards!

I did my 1.58 miles yesterday in just over 33 minutes, did some jump rope but not alot since it hurts the girls to be jostled that much and I did some resistance band work outs.

So far today I've done .67 miles but it was too hot & humid to go further, I am going to do more resistance band workouts today IF I CAN GET ANY SPARK PAGES TO WORK!

    Happy Belated Birthday and many more are to come as take control of your life. You will be like your mom and since she could do it you can too. You will have a lot to be happy about. Be glad you don't have arthritis and can't exercise. Hope

I'm 51 today! YAY!
