October 31 reminder

Friday, October 30, 2009

I really wish people would realize that day is NOT CELEBRATED in EVERY country in the world. I realize SparkPeople is a US based web site, but Americans are under the impression that just because something is celebrated/observed OR recogonized in the US that is SHOULD be in EVERY country in the world. That is so not true but people don't want to listen to that. It is NOT celebrated or observed here and it's forbidden! I chose not to celebrate it because I have no one to celebrate it with, no kids here anymore and no American or Western kids on the compound.

YANKEES WON LAST NIGHT! Woo Hoo! I got up somewhere around the 7th inning and the score was 2-1 so I went back to bed.

Today is laundry, cleaning day. 3 loads of laundry, tried to vacuum but the vacuum cleaner just doesn't work, cleaned up the kitchen, straightened up the bedroom. I also need to get up stairs and do my exercise.

I don't celebrate halloween except for a party at the friendship club and its not really a halloween party. We have no trick or treaters because its a home where old people live and we lock the doors at 8:00 pm. They would have to come in early to get in. I haven't seen a trick or treater in 3 years. My daughter brings my grandson by to get his candy and to show me his costume. Sorry about your vacuum and don't forget housework is considered exercise too so count that too. It will add up.

I don't know if it is the US who wants everyone to celebrate it or the various companies, but I agree with you. In school we do not talk about it because there are some children who do not celebrate it so it cannot be talked about.

Game three Saturday night. Yuck, 106, that is why I left Arizona and moved back east...too hot. I know you do not have a choice and are making the most of it. Keep drinking the water.

Sorry about the vacuum.

Soooo sad today

Thursday, October 29, 2009

After 7 years my DS and his girlfriend broke up. I don't know the whole story but she said he kept accusing her of cheating on him which I know she wasn't. She just couldn't live with the constant nagging and I guess he wasn't very nice to her lately either. Sadly she took their son with her which is only natural but I am just so broken hearted over it. I did talk to her yesterday and she said I am more than welcome to see my 3 year old grandson any time I want to, she will never deny that to me. We have done a lot for her and them and she is so grateful. She said she was sorry but she just can't live with him anymore. She does love him. She did a lot to help me too

Anyhow, I'm working on my 2nd litre of water today, I did get up about 4 times during the night to pee.

I hope the Yankees get their bats working and WIN TONIGHT!!

Maybe your son will realize one day that he was wrong and do what he can to patch the bridge between them. It is extremely rough when there is a child involved. That was nice of her to let you know you can see him whenever you want. Give the little guy a big hug for all of us.

I finally did it

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

I finally got down 8 cups of water, 2 litres. Now I feel so bloated and HUGE, not to mention I will be up all night peeing.
I also didn't get much exercise in today, no matter how many times I really tried, I was just so tired. I managed a few minutes on the manual treadmill and a few leg exercises.

This is also our weekend here so that means the dreaded grocery shopping, eeewww.

The World Series also starts tonight, or should I say at 3AM here. I don't think I'll be getting up to watch the game unless I'm making a pee call.
So that's my 3 points for today.

Robin, as your body gets used to more water, the bloated feeling and frequent trips to the bathroom really do ease up a little.
But it does help to get it down earlier...I try to have all my water down by 6pm too, and don't drink too much after that...otherwise I'd never get any sleep, lol.

I ad a hard time at first getting those first 8 cups down now I average 10-12 , your body gets used to it like everyone says and you will feel so much better for it. I hear you on the peeing, I take a diuretic for my b/p and wow I am so happy there are 2 bathrooms in my house somtimes.
WTG on hitting your first 8 emoticon

Keep pushing the water! Your body acclimates to the excess fluid over time. Pretty soon the water will be second nature!

The peeing gets better when your body get use to all that water. Good job getting it down.

I try to get all my drinking in before 6 pm that way I am not up all night. Some times it works, and some times it doesn't. Just a thought.

Go Yankees!!!

You'll get past the peeing, I promise. After about a week, you'll get "breakthrough" and that will settle down!

YANKEES WIN!

Monday, October 26, 2009

Woo Hoo!!! Yankess win the American League Championship so now it's on toe the World Series! I got up at 5:30 and watched from the 6th inning on. Of course the satellite feed died in the bottom of the 8th inning so I had to go to the MLB TV feed.

The clothes dryer is fixed now so I need to catch up on the laundry.

THANK YOU SPARK FRIENDS!

Thursday, October 22, 2009

Thank you to all my spark friends for leaving me the birthday messages and birthday goodies! They are appreciated more than you know. Nothing much happened for my birthday, DH took me out for dinner to our favorite Turkish restaurant and that was about it, but then I wasn't expecting anything since I got a new car in June. There isn't much I really want, well ok, a new electric treadmill would be really super great but my new car is better even though I can't drive it now until June.

Thanks again my dear SparkFriends!

On another note, I did my exercises yesterday. I did the Starter Kit workout, both the ball routine and the resistence band workout and I am sore today! I must have pulled too far on something because my back hurts. I'll just do the cardio workout today then.

I would take it a bit easy! I started doing Turbo Jam, and my back was sore the first few days, but it was because I never worked those muscles much before. Some soreness is good, but you if you think you pushed too far deff take it easy!

You are doing great!

Yes take it easy and its too bad you can't drive your car til June. Is that when you come back to the states again? Did you get the spark book? I heard the goodies in the sparkpeople store were charging a lot to ship the prizes out of the country. More than it was worth. I'm going to order the basic equipment for $25.00.
