I got a very nice message from SparkPeople today for my birthday.

DH is taking me out to our favorite Turkish restaurant tonight for dinner and I will eat carefully.
I did manage to get in some exercise yesterday too and I felt so much better. More today as well!

    Have a great time out tonight. Turkish food is so good. My family went to the Turkish restaurant in Epcot center in Disney World. We really enjoyed it. I can imagine its better over there.

My treadmill

My treadmill is the old fashioned kind, it's manual. You don't push a button to make it go, your foot power makes it go. It's on an incline too so I have to get something to make it level, I do NOT like walking on an incline. It's simple and basic, it doesn't have any fancy display panel, just digital numbers for calories burned, milage, walking speed, time you've been making it move and pulse except the pulse rate thing doesn't work, and a lopsided cup holder that doesn't hold much. I thought I would love it and would walk all the time, I am now not fond of it after using the fancy electric ones at the gym, but you get what you can afford. It takes a lot to move it and you have to hang on to the handle bars to keep it moving. After I've been walking on it for only 2 minutes my calves hurt and my ankles hurt, I suppose that means it's working but I get leg cramps. I'll just do the best I can, at least it's something when it gets too hot or humid to be outside.

    "At least it's something" .. I feel that way about my stationary bike. I am not fond of the gym - I prefer to workout outdoors. But the gym equipment is way better than anything I could afford at home.

    My treadmill is a bit newer than yours, but not by much! I like it, although, my times on it aren't great. About 10 minutes at a time is all I can manage right now!

    I thought about getting a manual treadmill. The last "electronic" one I had died rather quickly, so I didn't come close to getting my moneys worth out of it...so hubby says no!
But everything I've read on them say that they can be tough on your knees and hips because of the effort it takes to get it started.
I feel the same way about my old nordic track ski machine that you do about your treadmill. It's there if I have absolutely nothing better to do, lol. But hey, I picked it up for nothing on Craigslist, so I guess I'm getting my money's worth there emoticon

Day 3 back in the magic Kingdom

Got the suitcases emptied and put away for next year. Got my new cross stitch stash organized and entered into my main database and put away and now I want to stitch! I'm excited because I haven't wanted to stitch since May.

I got my exercise room organized and arranged today but I still can't manage more than 10 minutes on my treadmill. This treadmill is an "old fashioned" manual one, not electric and it's on an incline which I do not like so I need to find some way to make the walking tread level.

It's warm outside but not blazing hot.

WOO HOOOOO the Yankees won in a great game last night! They now lead the playoff games 2-0 and they're off to LA for 3 games.

How many more days until June 5?

I hate jet lag

I'm back overseas and trying to get re organized and setteled back in. I did sleep for 8-10 hours last night but at noon I want to go back to sleep.
I feel all puffy and swollen, sore and achy from sitting/lying uncomfortable for 10 hours. But both my suitcases made it so I guess all is well.
Furbabies were glad to see me and it's nice to cuddle them.

It's time to say goodbye.

My vacation is over. Today I am cleaning up and closing up my house until next June. I leave my house today, spend the night in a motel, Thursday I catch a 5AM bus to the airport, fly to New York, at 2 PM EST board my flight overseas and 11 1/2 hours later arrive back in Saudi Arabia until next June.
The summer went all too fast but life goes on.
Now for the next 7 1/2 months I can concentrate on exercise and getting back to a routine.

I had so much fun meeting my Spark team in New Hampshire and it was so very nice to have a workout buddy to make me push harder and the workout so much more enjoyable. I look forward to continuing that next June!

So TTFN from the side of the pond, see ya'll in a couple days from another country.
