Boot camp days 2 & 3

Tuesday, May 05, 2009

First I wish the idiots would READ the messages already posted because the answers to the questions they just asked are already answered in posts that are there. These people must be total morons if they just simply can't and refuse to read. It may be confusing, but geeze, I figured it out all by myself in January without having to post a question.

Well today was a workout! Day 3 worked the upper body and I could feel it, felt good. Day 2 was lower body that I didn't feel as much because I did 45 minutes of the WATP video first.
Today I also did the 4 mile WATP video! WOO HOO! I started warm up before I turned the computer on and by the time the computer turned on and the video started it was 13 minutes so I actually did 65 minutes! WOW, I am pleased with myself.

Today's Day At A Glance Calendar note is:
Modify your recipes for Cinco De Mayo. Keep the tradition and boost the nutrition with substitutions: whole grain flour, less salt, oil instead of lard, and beans instead of meat. Your taste buds won't know the difference." I dont celebrate this day, I'm American.

20 days until I'm HOME!! WOO HOO!

Bootcamp day 1

Sunday, May 03, 2009

Sweatsuit to Swimsuit bootcamp started today with a kickboxing type cardio video. It's a good workout but man I am so not coordinated to do some of the moves. There is a jumping jack segment with the video, sorry but even with a good supporting sports bra, the girls did not at all like the jumping jacks so I have to do the modified version. And the swimsuit part, well someone had posted something about pictures in your swimsuit, HAHAHAHAHA, I tried on the two new one piece suits I have here and that could be very embarassing if I were to wear them, they don't fit at all. THEY ARE TOO BIG! I would flip flop out all over the place! That is great news, I guess 22 lbs is a LOT. They are nice, brand new bathing suits too.
I did a 35 minute Walk Away The pounds video first for my other cardio workout and before that, I did heavy duty vacuuming for another 30 minutes and the vacuuming was quite a workout, move furniture push back & forth over one spot many times. I really do need a new vacuum.

My dad is ok but he needs to have a test done to see if he has any more blockages and to check his stents that are already in place. He had 2 units of blood yesterday but he is alert and talking.

OH, the best part about today, I have my "ticket" to go home on May 25!!

I'll look forward to you coming to the States. I hope your Dad will be OK. The exercises sound really hard. I couldn't jump if I wanted to. The cement block would probably break. I've heard of them breaking before. Thats great that you've lost so much and only a little more left to go. Hurrah!

Prayers for my DAD

Saturday, May 02, 2009

I got an e-mail from my sister this morning, my dad was taken to the hospital again with an angina attack. They checked him and he's ok but in ICU and has a nitroglycerine drip and he has to have a blood transfusion because he's anemic but we knew that. My sister said he will be fine and not to worry but I can't help it. So if you can spare a prayer or a thought, I would appreciate it. He is 89 years old and I would like to keep him around a few more years.

I was added as the team co-leader for the New Hampshire Sparklers team the other day (THANK YOU DON) and I hope I can help the team along. I don't have any ideas yet but I will think of something.

My goals for May are to follow the Sweatsuit to Swimsuit boot camp program, loose 2 pounds this month, exercise every day, TRY to drink 8 glasses of water every day (HAHAHA)

SparkPeople Day at a Glance Calendar note for Sat/Sun is:
"May offers great weather for outdoor pursuits like biking-a great cardio activity that's also easy on the joints. Tune up your bike this weekend and get ready to hit the road" I don't have a bike either here in hell or HOME in New Hampshire. Women are NOT ALLOWED to ride bikes here in hell, against the law and I just never got a bike back home.

Well, it's time to go exercise! YOU SHOULD TOO!

Robin I will certainly keep your DAD in my prayers. I have a mom whose 87 and I know how I want to keep her around a few more years too so I can relate to you and your Dad. Are you going to be able to see him when you go home? Congratulations on being made co-leader of the Sparklers. I'm sure you're excited. Well at least you're trying to drink the water. Perhaps you can do better once you get home. Good Luck with your weight loss.

A new month, new goals

Friday, May 01, 2009

Today is like Sunday in the real world. 24 more days and I will be home! WOO HOO! Didn't do much today, grocery shopping, laundry, cleaned up a bit.

Today's Day at a Glance calendar note says:
"Take a walk. Need a break from a hectic day at home or work? Slop out the door and let your feet take you somewhere. Walking will help you clear your had and relax. It's great aerobic exercise too!" I love to walk and I can't wait to get home and walk in the fresh mountain air. It's too hot to walk here anymore.

Since it's a new month, time for new goals. I need to sit down with my calendar, menus and team challenge notes. I want to do as much as I can now that I'm on the home stretch. I want my kids to be able to notice I've lost the weight. I would like to try for another 2 pounds.

You're doing good Robin. I can see you getting to your desired weight by the time you go back home to your DH after being in the states.
I saw where your NY Yankees won the other day.

It was NO happy anniversary here

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Nope, same thing as usual, no slight recogonization of the day, funny thing, only my Spark family sent me hugs, hmmmm, guess if you don't hang out on facebook and post every 5 seconds they forget all about you.

April went well as far as my SPARKFAMILY and weight loss, I lost 3-4 pounds but still have more to go. I started exercising more but I can't walk outside anymore because it's too hot and humid so that is why I have my tread mill and my Leslie Sansone Walk Away The Pounds videos.
I joined the new bootcamp and will follow along with other groups as well.

Counting down my days until I'm HOME! 25 now!

Sometimes you DH makes up for it in other ways. He has gotten you so many things that have helped you in your weight loss. I'm sure he will be lonely without you when you leave.

I'm sorry that you didn't get to celebrate. I kind of feel that way around Mothers Day...maybe one out of 3 kids even bothers to call.
Great job on the 3 lbs...I only lost 2. but that's 2 more than I've lost in the 2 months prior, so I guess I'm still heading in the right direction!
Hopefully your remaining countdown will pass quickly and you'll be home before you know it.

Hang in there. When I first got married my husband saw no reason to get me anything for Valentine's Day. I was so hurt the first year. The second year I hinted and hinted. Nothing. Finally, the third year, I thought he is such a good man in all other ways, if roses are so darm important to you, just buy a dozen for yourself. As I walked through the door there was my husband with a bunch of red roses, a bunch of pink roses, a bunch of yellow roses and a bunch of white roses...and he said shyly...never knew before what to get you because I didn't know what color to get you, so I got one of each. I handed him the dozen I'd gotten and told him he'd done better than anyone else before him. Sometimes our guys don't forget us, they've just never learned how to express their thoughts.

It still was your anniversary. It doesn't change all the time you've shared together. It must be super hard being apart and I will bet you that you are not forgotten. Just keep up the excellent fitness stuff and wow the soxes off of him within the month.

Be well, and we are here for you! (P.S. Mung beans sprout in 3 days...easiest gardening made!)
