April 23

Thursday, April 23, 2009

Well I had this all typed up, clicked on log into Facebood and it deleted everything.
Today's Spark People DAily Calendar note is:
"Don't expect perfection. You will mess up, make mistakes, and forget along the way. The key is persistence and a willingness to learn from your mistakes. Focus on what you have done right instead of what's gone wrong.
I have do a lot right since joining SparkPeople. I have lost 21 pounds by eathing healthy and exercising with SparkPeople and with motivation from my friends here. Even though I have met my original goal of being at 140, I am moving my goal to 135 and I will continue to move that goal weight by 5 pounds until I get down to where I want to be. I CAN DO IT!

I joined the new bootcamp!

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

The new boot camp is just what I need to rev up my time remaining here before my vacation and I can't wait to get started. I am going to wait to move my ticker, but I have dropped another pound this week, WOO HOO!
My mouth does feel better today too.

Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance CAlendar page says:
"Celebrate EArth Day! Getting closer to nature can help you feel more connected to the world at large. Spend time outside today walking, biking, picnicking, sightseeing, or planting a tree." Sadly about all I can do here is go outside. It is very hot here already, I don't have a bike, there is nothing to sightsee, there is no place safe to picnic and no trees to plant.

33 more days until I go HOOOOOOME!

Thank God your mouth feels better. Congratulations on the weight loss. Don't forget even with Earth Day to recycle. sometimes you can make money but most times you just help others make money but at least you keep it out of the landfill. Try to use cloth bags instead of paper or plastic. They also don't break if they get too heavy.

I am signed up for the bootcamp too and can't wait!! Sounds like you are looking forward to a fun trip soon! Just a thought about Earth Day, buy some flower seeds at your local grocery store or Home Depot and plant them inside in pots. Pansies near a morning sunny window work really good! I always plant seeds inside in the spring because I usually have snow until May!

Owie today

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

I try not to whine much but my mouth/face hurts a bit today. I had another tooth pulled last night and this one hurt more than the one last week did. I think the one last week was dead and had no feeling and the one last night was not dead. The side of my face or gum is still swollen and there is dull ache today but I guess it is better than an abscess. So now NO MORE DR.S OR DENTIST UNTIL JUNE! In June I get my boobs squished, LOL.

Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance Desk calendar note is:
"Know your "red flag" menu words. Avoid restaurant items described as: battered, bottomless, breaded, buttery, cheesey, country, creamy, crispy, fiied, giant, loaded, smothered and stuffed. These are signs of a diet disaster!" I DO avoid those but they are soooo good!

I haven't done any exercise so far yet today because my face hurts. I did sit down and do some cross stitch last night to relax.

Sorry you're hurting Robin. Hope your mouth / face feel better soon! I know how throbbing mouth pain can get the best of ya. I've had a lot of dental work done. Hopefully you'll feel like yourself real soon.

Maybe you developed an abcess in your tooth before you got it pulled. I hope things are better for you tomorrow. Don't forget to go back to him if it doesn't clear up

GOOD dr. appt. last night!

Monday, April 20, 2009

YAY YAY, my Endocrinologist is a very nice man, (not bad looking either, LOL). He said I was doing very well and my thryoid number was on low side so he reduced the mg# of my pill from a 75 to a 50! I guess that means I am making progress? I told him I was getting ready to go on vacation for 5 months so he gave me his personal phone # and e-mail so I can e-mail him my test results. He gave me an order for the blood tests for the USA but they wrote in Arabic, LOLOL. That should be interesting.

I got lazy yesterday and did some things around the house that NEEDED to be done so I didn't get in any exercise.
Today so far I just said the hell with the 83F temperaturet, and went outside for my walk. I managed to walk 48 minutes for only 2.32 miles but it is something, it was 87F when I cam back home at 9:30! I will probably do some strength training later.

I have still ANOTHER dentist appointment tonight to get this other tooth pulled on the opposite side of my mouth. More jello and broth for supper for a couple days.

Phew, good workout today!

Saturday, April 18, 2009

I got up in time to walk before it got hot, walked 2.5 miles in 52 minutes
did a 5 minute low impact step routine
40 minutes low impact & high impact Walk Away The Pounds video.
SparkPeople fitness tracker says I did too much today and this week on the amount of calories burned, that is a crock, I didn't do any exercising on Thursday and Friday. Guess I need to adjust my goal thing to keep them happy.

Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance calendar page says:
Sunday begins National Volunteer Week. Volunterring has been shown to increase happiness, health and self-esteem. It's a win-win!
There is absoultely NO PLACE to volunteer here. They do NOT want help from Americans or Westerners.

37 more days!!! WOOOOO HOOOOO!

I know what you mean about saying too many calories burned. They say I've done too much exercise. I still enter it anyhow. At least when you get home you can volunteer. Make up for the year. Sorry you can't exercise in the mall.
