Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance calendar page:
Pace around. When on the phone, for example, get up and get moving around your home or office instead of sitting still. Talk about multitasking!
I do this when I am on the phone, I do pace around the house or I will load or unload the dishwasher, pick up stuff around the house.
I have been so lazy this weekend, outside of walking 1.5 miles in the malls and grocery stores on Thursday, not much else except for up and down in and out doing the laundry. I WILL do some sort of exercise tonight though. I have to.
DH bought me an aerobic step on Thursday when we were out, woo hoo! Now I need to try and find some free downloadable step videos until I get home and can buy them.

YAY YAY YAY, I have reservations to go HOME TO THE USA on May 25 and wait list for May 28, WOO HOO~! It will be a direct, non-stop 13 hour flight with no alcohol. I will be home until the middle of October! I can't wait but it will be a long 2 1/2 months without DH.
Today's Spark People Day at a Glance calendar note says:
Be proactive. When you feel overwhelmed, do't sit and stew aboutit. Solve problems by defining them, developing a plan to solve them, and taking aciton.
I did a 3 mile Walk Away The Pounds video today. That was a workout, it was a higher intensity walk than what I have done.
It's the start of our weekend today to!

Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance Calendar page:
Swap whohle for white--grains that is. White flour, bread, rice and pasta are highly processed and low in nutrients. Whole grain varieties are packed with nutrients, fiber and filling power.
For the good parts
I re-connected with a long lost, sweet, dear friend today, one of the ladies that helped me through a painful crisis in my life in 98-99. It was so good to talk to her again, I thought she had long left this country but she's still here. We talked for 45 mintues and hope to be able to get together again before vacation next month.
And about vacation! WOO HOO, we are going down tonight to talk to the travel agent and get a ticket! YAY YAY YAY! I hope to be able to be HOME, IN NEW HAMPSHIRE by May 29th. If course my very first stop will have to be the DMV to renew my already expired driver's license that I wasn't able to do in October because their computers were down every single day for a week!
Wow, so all this will give me the extra energy to do another 3 mile walk away the pounds video and strength training today! YAY YAY YAY! It was only 89F at 8:30 this morning.

Hard to believe it's already April 13, almost 1/2 the month is gone.
I only had 1 tooth pulled on Sunday and the other one will be next Monday, after the follow up diabetes dr. It doesn't hurt and I was able to eat regular food for supper.
I did the 2 mile Heart Healthy or Healthy Heart video this afternoon then I started it over and did another mile, that was a good workout but I didn't want to try and push it with the hole in my mouth. It was 85F at 8:15 this morning so I didn't do my outside walk.
SparkPeople Day at a Glance Calendar note for today:
"Tink not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you have tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do."

Had 2 MAJOR scares at the diabetes dr. yesterday. First I got the results from my blood tests from last week, they were all good and he was pleased, however, my A1C test (some sort of test that measures glucose levels for the past 3 months) said 11%! Now that puts my blood glucose levels OVER 300 EVERY DAY and at almost death level. I have NOT HAD A GLUCOSE READING OVER 180 in WEEKS! One day it was 191 but that is because I had pasta for dinner. That number reading was so totally off, he looked at my blood glucose monitor twice and saw my numbers and said the test was so wrong and there was NO WAY that number was that high! So I had to re do the blood test and the reading came back as 6.9 which he considered good. We both breathed a sigh of relief. He was going to file a HUGE complaint with the lab.
Then there wasn't a thyroid test result on the paper so he sent me to do that. That is where the second scare came in. Had the blood test, left the lab, my abaya (that black ninja style bathrobe like thing women wear) sleeve was wet and I kept pulling it away from my arm. Pulled up the sleeve to find out why it was wet, my arm was all bloody, the band aid was soaked to overflowing down my arm! That has NEVER happened, so I calmly went back to the lab. I could feel my heart racing and my arm hurt. Mind you, I have a GREAT vein in my left arm, it just sticks out real pretty so there should have been no problem. I am NOT a bleeder either, so the lab nurse cleaned me up, pressed an alcohol pad on my arm then another band aid and it stopped. Now the bend in my arm is purple, green & blue, yeah I know for Easter. That was VERY scary! I kept checking it all the way home. I do have a follow up appointment to go back next Sunday.
My blood results are Uric acid numbers are down to an acceptable level, HDL Cholesterol is down, LDL numbers are down, Total cholesterol is down too low, Liver and Kidney function is fine and Triglyceride is up just a tiny bit. He said he is pleased with the 2 kg weight loss but I still need to lose more. Yep, I know and I'm trying. I exercise in some form every single day and have kept it up, if I don't it's only hurting me and no one else.
I made DH an Easter "plate" since I have to go to the dentist tonight to get the 2 teeth pulled.
(Yeah, I know those are Halloween Ghost peeps but I forgot to ask my kids to get me a couple packages of EAster peeps last year and I forgot again this year so we'll have more Halloween peeps next Easter too.
