Hard to believe it's already April 13, almost 1/2 the month is gone.
I only had 1 tooth pulled on Sunday and the other one will be next Monday, after the follow up diabetes dr. It doesn't hurt and I was able to eat regular food for supper.
I did the 2 mile Heart Healthy or Healthy Heart video this afternoon then I started it over and did another mile, that was a good workout but I didn't want to try and push it with the hole in my mouth. It was 85F at 8:15 this morning so I didn't do my outside walk.
SparkPeople Day at a Glance Calendar note for today:
"Tink not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you have tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do."

Had 2 MAJOR scares at the diabetes dr. yesterday. First I got the results from my blood tests from last week, they were all good and he was pleased, however, my A1C test (some sort of test that measures glucose levels for the past 3 months) said 11%! Now that puts my blood glucose levels OVER 300 EVERY DAY and at almost death level. I have NOT HAD A GLUCOSE READING OVER 180 in WEEKS! One day it was 191 but that is because I had pasta for dinner. That number reading was so totally off, he looked at my blood glucose monitor twice and saw my numbers and said the test was so wrong and there was NO WAY that number was that high! So I had to re do the blood test and the reading came back as 6.9 which he considered good. We both breathed a sigh of relief. He was going to file a HUGE complaint with the lab.
Then there wasn't a thyroid test result on the paper so he sent me to do that. That is where the second scare came in. Had the blood test, left the lab, my abaya (that black ninja style bathrobe like thing women wear) sleeve was wet and I kept pulling it away from my arm. Pulled up the sleeve to find out why it was wet, my arm was all bloody, the band aid was soaked to overflowing down my arm! That has NEVER happened, so I calmly went back to the lab. I could feel my heart racing and my arm hurt. Mind you, I have a GREAT vein in my left arm, it just sticks out real pretty so there should have been no problem. I am NOT a bleeder either, so the lab nurse cleaned me up, pressed an alcohol pad on my arm then another band aid and it stopped. Now the bend in my arm is purple, green & blue, yeah I know for Easter. That was VERY scary! I kept checking it all the way home. I do have a follow up appointment to go back next Sunday.
My blood results are Uric acid numbers are down to an acceptable level, HDL Cholesterol is down, LDL numbers are down, Total cholesterol is down too low, Liver and Kidney function is fine and Triglyceride is up just a tiny bit. He said he is pleased with the 2 kg weight loss but I still need to lose more. Yep, I know and I'm trying. I exercise in some form every single day and have kept it up, if I don't it's only hurting me and no one else.
I made DH an Easter "plate" since I have to go to the dentist tonight to get the 2 teeth pulled.
(Yeah, I know those are Halloween Ghost peeps but I forgot to ask my kids to get me a couple packages of EAster peeps last year and I forgot again this year so we'll have more Halloween peeps next Easter too.

I got out and had a good walk this morning, it was still only 77F at 8:15 so I quickly got dressed and went out. I managed to walk 2.5 miles in 52 minutes.
Today's SparkPeople Day at a Glance Desk CAlendar note for the weekend is:
You can enjoy a handful (about 25) small jelly beans for 100 calories. REmember that one handful can easily turn into two of three, so enjoy your portion and then keep your hands out of the candy basket. LOLOL, we don't have Easter candy here, they don't put it on the store shelves until AFTER Easter and they do that on purpose, they know what it is. You can't get jelly beans here though. I am however going to dye eggs for my DH since I did find the PAAS kit I brought back last summer.
There won't be any big fancy dinner either since today I have to go to the Diabetes dr and Sunday I have a dentist appt, to get 2 teeth pulled. Other years I made a fake ham using Butterball Turkey thigh meat.
Have a GREAT weekend. I will write tomorrow about what the dr. said.

No, I'm not wishing you a good/happy Friday, it's the somber religious Good Friday.
Today's SparkPeople Daily Desk note says:
Drive away from the drive-thru. When you're at the bank, pharmacy, or fast food joint, park and run inside to complete your errands. You'll get a fitness boost (and save gas, too).
Today is our Sunday, it's also laundry day for me. I've been up down, in out, back and forth all at double pace just for added "fitness". I did to a Walk Away The Pounds dvd last nigh, tried to do both the 1 mile and 2 mile but the 1 mile froze up so I'llh ave to check it to make sure it's not broken.
I also watched the Yankees game on Yahoo Game Channel. WOOO HOOOO They won! YAY YAY!

Whopee, nothing exciting happening, went grocery shopping this morning.
Daily calendar note for today:
Celebrate milestones. While your long-term goal may be to lose 50 lbs or more, each pound lost is one step closer-and each one deserves recognition! You never know whom you may inspire-including yourself!
What a GREAT note for today!
