Another good workout

Wednesday, May 15, 2013

I had another good (to me) workout at the gym today, the recumbent bike, the treadmill, weight machines and free weights. We're back on a cold streak here in New Hampshire so hopefully soon it will warm up and I can go for a walk outside with bug repellant.

Back to the gym today

Monday, May 13, 2013

It felt good to get back to the gym today. Why do I go to the gym? Bugs, flies, mosquitoes, cold basement, wasps, hornets. The "road" I live on is in the woods filled with millions of mosquitoes, flies & ticks but I guess if I keep waving my arms to swat them off I would be getting extra exercise, If I keep swatting at the ticks that crawl on my feet and ankles that would count as bending over a lot. Exercising outside on my huge front deck I would have to duck and dodge the wasps and hornets and of course the mosquitoes and flies. I can't exercise on the floors in the living area because there isn't enough wide space. Downstairs it is cold, we do not keep the heat on down there and being in the basement, it's always cool or cold down there. Yeah, I know excuses, excuses, excuses but belonging to the gym will give me incentive to get up and go there since I spent money on it and I may meet people there.

So that is my day

Yeah, that's the worst part about this time of year. It's finally warm enough to get out and then you spend all your time trying to fend off the beasties. Though waving those arms around as you walk is a great cardio boost, ha ha!
My problem is the bear that likes to stroll through the neighborhood about the time I'm needing to take the dog out for his walk. Jude doesn't want to have anything to do with outside once he gets a whiff of him. And by the time I can get a whiff of him, I'm agreeing with him, ha ha. Makes for some extremely short morning outings.

Some of us observe it daily. Our kids never send card. The eldest said one day why do I have to buy a card to prove I love you. That means maybe I only love you once a year or once on Sunday.

NUFF said but they do usually call on THE US Mothers DAY it is different day in England. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Moving forward

Wednesday, May 08, 2013

Saying goodbye to my Dad was so very hard, feels like there is a hole in my heart so I need to get up and move on. My Mom held up good, it's been a long tough road for her and now it's over so she can get on with her life.

Tomorrow I'll get back to the gym and get a good workout. Yes I know I don't need to go to the gym for a workout but that is an incentive, paying for it so I will go, and I can get back to eating right. There were so much food and stress.

Thank you to those who sent hugs, prayers and words of support, it means a lot.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I went through it in '11 and know how you feel. It's great that you are going to the gym. Exercise will help you with the mourning process and make you feel better. Sending hugs!

Robin, I'm not so sure that hole ever really goes away. But I know that at least now I can think of him or tell a story of him and smile. So it does get better. Good that you're returning to some form of Normal life, it'll help.
Hugs and prayers

Thinking of you as you transition from where you are to this new place of fond memories and acceptance.

My heart hurts for what you are going through, having done this very thing 23 years ago with my Mom's passing.

Sending you hugs and heartfelt love.

    Are you home again now?.

You mentioned the gym so I hope so.

Does your Mom have family close by, I hope so I often wish I had family close by to lean on.

It is good you are going to the gym, which town is it in. When you are ready i hope we can get together.
I have Cataract surgery on May 30th I would love to do it before then.
Would you like to come to the botanical gardens in Boothbay? It is lovely and gets better daily now.
I never heard of ticks but we had no deer in England. We also had a lot of hens in my grans concrete back yard and in the allotment of garden she got from the government so she could grow food.
Maybe that is where i got my love of gardening. HUGS.
It takes lot of time to grieve I still miss my mother after over 30 years.
Take care Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon
