Busy with family

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

I haven't been here on SparkPeople as much as I should be but my personal opinion is family is more important especially when I don't get to see my family most of the year.

Last week I was busy with my daughter and older grandson but I did make it to the gym a couple of days. We went shopping so we did a LOT of walking. I ate healthy as well.

This week my youngest grandson is staying with me for his school break. There isn't really much to do with him up here because not much is open yet as this is a tourist area. It's still on the chilly side here and yes, I do have a snowpile in my back yard yet.

My thoughts, prayers go out to those hurt and killed in last weeks Boston Marathon bombing. It was such a horrible thing to happen.

I understand how family keeps us so busy but don't forget that you count too!! Good luck with your grandson. I'm sure you will find fun things to do. Don't forget, cooking healthy meals can be a job for more than one!! (my teen son loves to cook with me)

I agree. Family takes a very high priority. And when grandkids are involved; well, that's way too special to put below anything else except maybe survival!!!

Good for you for taking the time to relax and enjoy family.

You have your priorities right. Well done. If you would like to bring him up here.I especially love boys. We have the State museum and even better the Coastal Maine botanical gardens in Boothbay.
You can STAY OVERNIGHT and get me and you some walking in. I still do not have your phone # so I hope you read it soon. Pat in Augusta live a mile or so to the museum we would walk but it is hilly walking back.
I would LOVE to see you both

All that today, April 11, 2013
The first picture is my front porch at 8AM

The second picture is the same porch at 3PM today

The front of my house today

These were taken earlier this week:
my back yard-you've heard the saying "Where the sun don't shine"? This is where the sun don't shine!

Hopefully this won't last long!

I did go to the gym yesterday, (not attempting to drive today) and found out only 1 recumbant bike out of 3 work, only 1 out of 3 ellipticals work, 0 treadmills out of 2 work and of course someone was on the one working bike when I got there and did not get off until I was done too. I did lots of weight machines and free weights and I did have a GREAT workout!

Feel that burn!

Tuesday, April 09, 2013

Yes I do and it feels good! I went back to the gym today and my first real hard workout in over a month-unless you want to count the snow shoveling. The treadmills are broke-STILL so I got on one of the recumbent bikes for 15 minutes to warm up then went to the gym machines and free weights, back to the bike for a few more minutes. I must have worked one side more than the other one so I guess it's time for an Advil.

So it was another GREAT day in my part of New Hampshire. Looking forward to going back to the gym for more workouts!

These last few days in NH have been lovely! Yesterday's early morning rain finally washed away the last of the snow - now just waiting for green grass! AH!

Keep up the good work!

A GREAT day here in New Hampshire!

Monday, April 08, 2013

It was a good weekend and it's a beautiful day here in the rural woods of New Hampshire!
Saturday my (adult)son and I went to Manchester (NH)-(Google it) to a New Hampshire Made Expo. It is an annual event that showcases all kinds of products and services that are done and made in New Hampshire from candles, jams/jellies, jewelry, woodworking, sauces, restaurants etc to help get the New Hampshire population aware to BUY LOCAL. And I did! I bought this really NEAT Yogibo ( www.yogibo.com/ ) chair and cube foot rest/seat. I LOVE LOVE it! It's HUGE squishy, comfortable, and fun. I bought it for my grandsons to sit on down stairs in the play room but I might keep it for myself. There is all kinds of uses for it. Here is me sitting in the chair.

Then after that we went to a Middle Eastern restaurant and grocery store so he could get a Shawarma sandwich (what you people here in America call a Gyro) that he used to eat growing up. It was pretty good.

Today (Monday) I took my trash to the dump (we don't have normal trash pick up here in the boonies) and just kept on driving. It is a beautiful day here, the first really nice day since I've been here. I drove through the back roads that I normally don't drive, stopped in a couple of little stores along the way and browsed, stopped in a little country museum and store to get some local honey to help my allergies, then stopped at the gym I have belonged to in the past and re-joined. Came home and chipped away some on the icebergs on my front porch that just don't seem to melt, put up my mail box so I guess I ma officially settled until August when I have to go back over to Saudi Arabia again.

AWESOME day!

I just read your post about your dad and mom. I know it is hard and your mom is coping the best she can. They are lucky to be in the same place where they can still see each other and not some where different.

I know it is hard for you also. Go visit both of them and spend what time you can so you have no regrets. (I know that no matter what there will be some, but do what your heart is telling you to do.)

Hugs!!!
