Freeze Oatmeal in Silicone Baking Cups

Tuesday, March 06, 2012

What a neat tip on Lifehacker, I love Lifehacker for interesting stuff!

Old fashioned oatmeal tastes much better than instant varieties, is cheaper, and better for you. The downside is that it takes a while to cook, usually 10-20 minutes or a little longer if you use steel-cut oats. Why not make a large batch when you have the time and then freeze individual portions in silicone muffin tins and/or baking cups?

I make mine in the microwave with half a banana and it takes 2 minutes. That has to be quicker than putting them up in singles.
I am not criticising just suggesting. Pat in Maine. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I honestly never thought of this! What a smart way to make healthier oatmeal and still have it be "instant"!

rather 'brilliant', isn't it? Oh the things that are 'so obvious' that we never think of. I need an easy alternative to my banana routine - this may just be it/ Thanks

My Grandson's birthday

Sunday, March 04, 2012

Today is my youngest grandson's 6th birthday, I can't believe he is 6 already. I called but he wasn't home but talked to my son who said the grandson lost his first tooth while he was at his mothers.

Top Organic Raw Nuts and Seeds for Your Diet

Saturday, March 03, 2012

Found this interesting article on Yahoo Shine, I'm not much into the organic and raw hoopla but I might try these.
Nuts and seeds are a valuable part of a raw food diet. Not only do they provide a great boost of energy, they give your body vitamins and minerals and help protect it against illness, including heart disease. When adding nuts and seeds to your diet, make sure that they are organic and raw, as the roasting process can harm the important nutrients that they have to offer.
