Top Organic Raw Nuts and Seeds for Your Diet

Saturday, March 03, 2012

Found this interesting article on Yahoo Shine, I'm not much into the organic and raw hoopla but I might try these.
Nuts and seeds are a valuable part of a raw food diet. Not only do they provide a great boost of energy, they give your body vitamins and minerals and help protect it against illness, including heart disease. When adding nuts and seeds to your diet, make sure that they are organic and raw, as the roasting process can harm the important nutrients that they have to offer.

Oh that is so true. Didn't do too hot yesterday with healthy eating. Need to focus on making it a better day today rather than dwelling on the couple bad choices yesterday and dragging them around with me!

Found a great article today and thought I would share
Our Most Common Cooking Mistakes

Every cook, being human, errs, bungles, botches, and screws up in the kitchen once in a while. If you have not "caramelized" fruit in salt rather than sugar, you have not suffered the most embarrassing mistake made by one of our editors. We did not have to look much farther than our staff―and their encounters with readers, friends, and relatives―to compile a list of 25 common, avoidable culinary boo-boos.

A new fitness gaget

Sunday, February 26, 2012

I sent an e-mail to whoever is in charge of the Spark blogs about a new fitness tracking gaget I saw today but like all the rest of the items I send to them to check out, I doubt anyone will read it.
Nike Fuelband looks interesting,
Nike+ Fuelband is a slightly different beast, its goal is to provide one simple measurement for every kind of activity. The Fuelband doesn't just count steps. It doesn't tick off miles. What's unique about Nike+ Fuelband is that it uses "oxygen kinetics" to figure out the amount of oxygen you're using and then translates that input/output into a "universal currency" named Nikefuel. Everyone, whether you're a basketball player or a football player or a life player or a PC game player, is measured with Nikefuel. The more active things you do in a day means the more Nikefuel you earn in a day. Nike says that they've correlated oxygen intake with specific fitness activities and then created a way to translate it to Nikefuel. Basically, it's a smart and Nike-branded algorithm that brings everyone onto the same unit of measurement.
