Very pretty. I used to cross stitch and still have a lot of kits to do. Maybe I will do them someday. Right now I am into sewing.

More finished cross stitch

Saturday, December 03, 2011

I stitched and finished another cross stitch project today and made an ornament out of another one.
I stitched this pattern called Pepper Tree on a 28 count linen pillow cover with hand dyed threads. The pattern is from Ozark Sampler.
I also finished off another pattern that I stitched a couple years ago but never found some way to completely finish it.

I'll be stitching something new on Sunday!

Depressing December

Friday, December 02, 2011

I've been back in this hell hole for 2 months and not much has changed as far as my weight goes. I have lost the ambition to get up and exercise every day but stick to 4 days a week, I still watch what I eat, I take my insulin and Victoza-at least until it runs out then I am SOL because they don't sell it here (I AM NOT IN THE USA AND IT IS ILLEGAL TO SEND MEDICATION THROUGH THE MAIL SYSTEM HERE)

On December 6 it will be 27 years since I came to this land of sand. In some ways it's gotten better but in some ways it's gotten worse. We don't do much outside of our home but that is our choice. I do have plenty to keep me busy and content.

I hate this month because of the heartbreak, pain and loneliness it brings. I'm tired of all the sweet, sappy, sloppy, drippy, oozy holiday crap that people infest on others who HATE this time of year. Christmas is forbidden, illegal, against the law and frowned upon in this country so there are no holiday decorations out in stores. I went through MAJOR family issues a few years ago and all these years later the pain, hearbreak, hurt feelings still remain and just comes flooding back at this time of year.
Please don't post any god or jesus or prayer stuff, I'm not into that, I'll just be glad when March comes.

I hear you about all the Christmas stuff. I pretty much hibernate the day after Thanksgiving and come back out the day after Christmas. The only thing I do is send out a few Christmas cards but going to the parties and listening to all the talk about family and stuff sends me over the cliff. emoticon

heck - march - I'm waiting for May! chin up girl - I'm a holiday hater too - but it will be over quick enough - continue to take care of you! beat that crap back - take charge and stay strong! you are such an inspiration for all you do on a daily basis over there!

Schedule Short Workouts As Mini-Breaks

Monday, November 28, 2011

Another interesting Lifehacker article.
NOTE: I DID NOT WRITE THIS, I JUST THOUGHT IT WAS INTERESTING. I try to send interesting things to SPARKPEOPLE for their reviews and opinions but they ignore me so I am posting this here.

Schedule Short Workouts As Mini-Breaks to Make Sure You Exercise While Working from Home
For those of us who work remotely or from home on a regular basis, making sure to get some exercise can be difficult when faced with the temptation to sit at a desk for hours on end. The solution is simple: schedule your workouts like you would your lunch or any other break to make sure you get an alert to get up and move around a bit.

The same thing can be said for us retired people who tend to sit in front of the TV or computer all day. I am up and down all day long, never sit in one place for very long. I take the stairs instead of the elevator unless I am carrying something heavy, like groceries.

Finished another cross stitch project

Tuesday, November 22, 2011

I'm excited, I finished another cross stitch project today which makes 3 in a month, more than I have done in a long time.
This is called Give Thanks by Hinzeit and it's stitched on 32 count hand dyed fabric with hand dyed flosses and DMC threads. I have a basic idea of how I want to finish it but I'll have to see how it looks first.

The ants are still here and still marching around the walls but not quite as bad because I've had to use the bug spray in the house. Had to spray around the couch too since they were crawling around on me. they don't sell borax here but I got some cinnamon sticks and cloves so we'll have to try those.

Your crosstitch is beautiful. I used to do them and still have a lot of kits to finish someday. It is very relaxing.

I hope you get the ant invasion under control soon. It makes me itch just to think of them crawling on the couch.

Have a great day.
