Great!

Saturday, January 30, 2010

I'm feeling great today. I had an awesome workout yesterday. Walked 4 miles and did my strength training (obviously at the gym because it's freezing here in upstate NY). I wanted to lose 2-3 pounds this week and as of this morning that is where I am! emoticon

Seemed to be a long week this week but I'm feeling pretty good. Had a little slip up mid-week but I recovered nicely. Weekends are always the big challenges for me so wish me luck. emoticon
I've learned so much in such a short time so thank you all of my new Spark Friends. i know I'm going to reach my goal!

We all have slip ups time to time and we get frustrated. I always tell myself that some effort is better than no effort.

Disappointed

Thursday, January 28, 2010

I've never been good at the blog thing but I guess I need to vent. I have been doing so many positive things and I ruined it the last couple of days with Sloppy Joe's and DOmino's pizza. I have to master the art of not eating emotionally. I have recommitted myself this morning and am very motivated to correct my errors and get back on track. emoticon

I am also an emotional eater and I have been "binge" free for 2 weeks now which is a long time for me....But I've been where you are and I'm sure I'll be there again the important part is to get back on the wagon and not let it drag you behind it! good luck on your journey, Keep focused on your goals and you'll do great! emoticon

I wouldn't say you "ruined" anything. You might have made some choices that weren't in support of your goal. Right now, you can make other choices that are.

HAng in there Rich! emoticon We all stumble and have off days. The important thing is you don't beat yourself up and refocus on your end goals. You CAN do this!! There are a LOT of great people on this site just waiting to cheer you on and motivate you with their own stories. Just remember the longest journey begins with a single step and a detour doesn't mean you've reached the end of the road. Hang in there Sugar!

Try not to fret about mistakes -- they are opportunities to learn, and days of "bad" eating don't erase the good you did on the days when you ate healthily!

Don't worry, just get back on the horse again. I've made the mistake (several times) of just quitting for the day after a slip-up and saying "well I'll just start again tomorrow." That's where the weight gain happens. You won't gain weight if you mess up once a day and then continue being "good". The gain happens over time after several errors. Good for you for getting back on track and being motivated. With time I too hope my errors will be fewer. Lots of luck!

That is one of the first steps in losing weight...the commitment and recognizing your mistakes and trying to correct them. If there is one thing I have learned while trying to lose weight....you need to eat "other" foods, not just the "good" ones otherwise you will be miserable. It is the art of moderation that we all need to master.

Good Luck in your journey! emoticon
