It's All or Nothing - - - NOT!

Saturday, February 12, 2011

I was reading blogs when this thought occurred to me and I wanted to share it.

How often does this thought occur - it's all or nothing! It's a self-defeating thought.

This past week had me going way over the top on the day I had to take Pop to Jackson - a 90 mile drive and then turn around and take him to Hattiesburg - about 120 miles from Jackson - and then go shopping and come home to fix lunch, another 25 miles of driving.

For the first time in months I had a chocolate urge and yes, I fed it. So what! This was only one day out of my life. I calculated about 600 calories in "fun" bars. I gained one pound the next day.

I got back on track and lost the temporary gain. Life goes on.

It is NOT all or nothing - it is life and I determine how fun it will be. I continue to look for the fun in my journey and enjoy it.

Have a great day, thanks for reading my blog today! emoticon

I agree. All or nothing could be setting yourself up for failure.

I see nothing wrong with the treat -you probably needed a pick up after all that driving.
Sparks gives the 80/20 rule. As long as you follow a healthy lifestyle 80% of the time, you are a success. Way less pressure, because we are all human and simply can't be on it 24/7!
Here is to the 80%'s!!

I am definitely all or nothing in every situation... your idea shocks me! I like it, though. It's something we should all practice. :D

Good for you, also, for giving yourself some slack when you needed it: it was clearly a bear of a day!

Not everybody has the sense to take care of the self that they are when that's needed. Good for you that you do have that sense. I think it's really AWESOME-- I mean totally

emoticon

that you have that much sense!

For that, you get a blue ribbon and a gold trophy, too!

I used up all my weight range :(

Monday, January 31, 2011

I used up all my weight range :(
3-5 pounds... up to 120 :(
... but my skinny jeans still fit :^)

Tomorrow is a new month and I am back to basics and getting the extra few pounds off again :^)

January was one tough month! With all the cold and rainy weather, walks outdoors were limited for me and I was just too lazy to use my WATP.

This must end - I did a WATP yesterday and I am determined to use my other videos as well. I was given a Bikini and I will be having my picture taken in it!

Stay on track Spark Buddies! You are worth the extra effort! Never give up!!

**there is a reason for me saying 3-5 lbs.
My "Ideal Weight" is 117 but I went down to 115 because it is such a nice round number!
Sadly, I then thought about 114 - hence I now refer to 117 as my ideal weight - 3 lbs over @ 120 - but 5 lbs over 115. Funny how I just can't let 115 go! But anywhere around 117 is awesome and anything under 120 is extraordinary!
The rumors are correct - we can obsess over numbers on the scale. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

It's that keeping a close eye when we get to the top of the range which is so essential to maintenance. A struggle -- but won't permit ourselves to gain more!!

Linda, You know just what to do and you'll do it. I was over my happy weight, as you know, October - December, but I'm (fluctuating) around my happy weight now. We can do this!! Walking indoors can be fun, too. Maybe you need to find a friend to workout inside. I know you have some outside walking buddies. And you could consider reading the Beck book. I'm learning so much from it! Best wishes for continued success!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Keep up the great work, Linda! The fact that you've accomplished all that you have is incredible. You may have gained a few this past month, but more than likely you'll lose a few this month. It all seems to average out. I admire your continued motivation and drive! God bless!

I would be tinkled pink to reach 130 let alone 120. I think you are doing awesome but I understand your strictness. If you let it go to 120, then it will inch up to 125 and so on. Just don't get too low. Being too skinny isn't necessarily healthy either.
