The new me!

Saturday, August 28, 2010

I was asked for some new pictures - I learned that my dearly beloved Ray is lousy with a camera!

Twice he took fuzzies and twice I wasn't even in the fuzzies! emoticon

Here he was talking to me and took the picture!

I've seen shots from behind but I was still walking when he said, "done"

and I look angry in this one because he didn't wait for me to smile! But the shot is good anyway...

Yup - my arms are still flabby but they are smaller than when I started! I have learned to accept the bad along with the good!

I am a happy camper!

Oh, Linda, what a thrill! Your photos remind me of my "best body" year way back in high school! You look wonderful! You've chosen jeans and an exercise top for your photo -- only a badly chosen dance costume or swimsuit could be harder to wear -- and you still look great! Your tummy is flat! Your waist curves in beautifully, and you've got a nice hourglass valentine curve from behind. The new you looks fabulous!

"The Step and Visit Plan"

Friday, August 27, 2010

Today's blog came from a column in my local paper.

I think it is a catchy title for a walking plan so I am borrowing it and linking to the blog itself:

page=1#comment-1314

I think it would do all of us some good to "step and visit" during the day!

See y'all tomorrow!

Linda

Timely advice, as always. I have tried to adhere to this sort of plan, but I have slipped in the last few months. I JUST came back from a 25 minute walk around a track near my office, and it felt great. I will have to come up with ways to try to sneak those extra steps in!!!

Great article. It's amazing how you can get in a few more steps by just changing one thing - I take the long route back from the restroom every time. Considering all the water I drink that's a lot of trips and extra steps. emoticon

Thank you - we got great news!

Monday, August 23, 2010

My dad was very touched when I told him my sparkfriends were praying for him!

After the surgery, his cardiologist told me the battery is good for another 8 years and we would do this again when my dad turns 95!!

WooHoo!! I wish you could have seen my dad's face when I told him!
emoticon

Thank you all for your prayers - they are so appreciated!

Love,
Linda & Pop

**Thank you for your prayers - he is still in a lot of pain, but at least he is still here!

Please, if you can spare another prayer?

Sunday, August 22, 2010

I must take my dad to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. tomorrow to have the battery changed on his heart defibrillator/pacemaker unit - it will be done on an out-patient basis.

As always, any time the skin is broken, infection is a possibility.

Please, if you have a moment to say a prayer for my dad and just as importantly for his surgeon, it will be greatly appreciated.

I always pray for the doctors and tell them - so far this has been met with great appreciation by the doctors.

I will return to post the results tomorrow when I get home again. Although the surgery itself is only about 45 minutes, I expect to be out of house for several hours.

Thank you,
Love you all,
Linda
