I was spark-mailed yesterday and asked if it is ok to use the information coming from a "Go-Wear" instead of the SP reports.
So today I am just adding that it doesn't matter where you find your BMR; if your source of information is better suited to your body and your program, use it!
Not all of us have Heart Rate Monitors so we must use the estimates we find here at SparkPeople, or elsewhere on the web.
www.caloriesperhour.com/tutorial_BMR .php explains BMR & RMR - basically it is the number of calories you may eat daily with no exercise and still maintain your weight. It is important to 'know your numbers' because none of us is ever going to put this weight back on - am I right?
As the article points out, these calculations are estimates. In the SparkPeople articles they say that when you reach your goal weight you should very slowly add back calories to learn how much you may eat and maintain your weight.
