Why I am eating bread again!Monday, January 04, 2010
Like most "dieters" I pretty much had quit eating bread unless I had no choice (when I donate blood I bring a sandwich because I am not home for lunch). ![]()

Wow, this is all new to me so I found it hugely interesting. I'm a carboholic and have never given up my bread - not for anything. I tried the Arnold Sandwich Thins in rye this week... OMG! Heaven! I'm so glad you found the answer you needed, Linda. Report Inappropriate Comment |

Linda, you are one smart chick, you have an issue you search out a solution. This is why you are such a great success. I can not wait for the day I can maintain and get bring back in moderation a few things I have always loved. But bread is my weakness and until I get my poo together it will still be off limits. I am working on my inner strength as much as I am working on my outer. Hugs, Em

I love bread too....it would be hard to give it up completely. I treat myself to an Arnold's Sandwich Thin most days. They come in multi grain, wheat and white. I love 'em. High in fiber and low in cal (about 100). Yum!

Great blog. I am not a "dieter"...but am a Weight Watcher....that's why I love the program so much. It's doeable! There isn't any food I have to deprive myself of...I have just switched from white flour to whole wheat flour/ white bread to whole wheat bread, pasta, tortillas etc; I also limit my intake of bread/carbs...but for what it's worth - I lead a normal healthy lifestyle by enjoying all my favorite foods in moderation. Extremes just don't work for me. Thanks for confirming what I already knew. You are on the right track. Report Inappropriate Comment |

Interesting blog Linda, and helpful as usual. My hair also fell out at an alarming rate last year as a reaction to medical trauma. I had it cropped short and my hairdresser advised me to eat wholemeal bread as well as Brazil nuts and small bananas (1 of each a day). My hair has thickened up again but I've kept it short. I would never have had the nerve to cut it so short if it hadn't fallen out but everyone says it's taken years off me so it's part of my new look these days. Oddly it was straight before it fell out but has come back with a wave it it and a much better texture. Report Inappropriate Comment |

Oh, I'm so glad abut your hair, Linda! I know what it's like to have one's "crowning glory" become less so, having had my hair periodically thin from general anesthesia. So glad this mix of minerals plus the silica are helping! Plus, the extra zinc should enhance your immunity, and magnesia helps our bods absorb calcium...so Report Inappropriate Comment |

I love bread! That is one thing that I will not give up on. But all in moderation. Could that be why my hair is thick and full? As my daughter the hairdresser complains about when she is cutting my hair!

I don't know but I love bread. There are just some things I refuse to give up. Maybe that's why it's taking so long to lose the weight.

I received my copy early - it was shipped Priority Mail, and no, I didn't request that or pay for it so it must be another present from SparkGuy!
Several months back I was asked to sign a waiver so they could use something I had written - you know I printed and signed the waiver and mailed it in!
But I told no one because I knew that things change and it was not a guarantee that I would be in the book.
It is quite an honor to be included in a paragraph in a book this size and considering how many members there are here at SparkPeople. So when KENNYWHEELS contacted me yesterday that he found me in The Spark, you know I was elated! I hadn't yet found me on my own. KENNYWHEELS even told me what page, page 39!
I had to trust SparkPeople - I had to let go of my antiquated ideas and trust that SP knew better than me - anyone that has ever taken part in a 12-Step Program will recognize, "I had to let go and let Spark show me the way."
I do not believe I am allowed to put what is in the book here - they do own it now. So just let me say, SparkPeople works!
Sometimes you must take a giant leap of faith to follow the program but SparkPeople works!!
I can't say it enough, SparkPeople works!!! Start today with Stage One of the Spark Program and you too can realize your dreams.
Dreams really can come true! SparkPeople Works!
**Edit for the Bonus Challenge for the SP Spark Your Body BootCamp:
My goal is to tone up more now that I have reached goal weight.
weight 122.4
neck 12.25
chest 35.5
waist 26.5
hips 35
thighs 18.75
calves 14.5
arm
I had to greatly modify the video challenge - just can't hop around so spryly on these old knees. But I purchased some foam interlocking mats yesterday and I'm ready to try again next Sunday!

Hi! I'm so proud of you! You're in a book! You know, I was proud be mentioned in a book a long, long time ago:) It was a vampire website directory *giggles*! Yes, way back in the day, I had an extremely popular vampire website... it was a bulletin board type thing. Anyway, they mentioned my website addy in a book and talked about it as well. It was a massive book too! I'm sure this all means nothing to you, but I just wanted you to know that I know how you feel and that I am very proud of you! I wish that I could get the spark book so that I could see that page 39:) Pale Report Inappropriate Comment |
