back in the 120's today!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

My homemade bread made with cream shoved me up to 122.5 on Nov 7 but I am back to 120.8 today, 3 days later.

Maintenance is definitely doable.

Yep, it's just a matter of not letting a 2 lb. gain become a 5 lb. gain and then a 10 lb. gain, etc. You are determined and will do just great!

17 days and down another half pound...

Monday, November 09, 2009

Back to 121 today - so that fried turkey wing didn't do much harm yesterday!

We now have 17 days to Thanksgiving and company coming! So why am I sitting here typing at my computer??

Why not?

17 days, are you ready?

I eat whatever I feel like on Thanksgiving Day and don't feel guilty. The next day, I get right back on track. I've done this for 4 years and never showed a gain after a week of staying on track. (I don't weigh myself until the next Monday). It works well for me.

18 days and fried some turkey wings today...

Sunday, November 08, 2009

My weight was back down a pound today, so I felt a lot better!

I have been thinking of fried turkey wings for weeks so today I indulged myself. 380 calories of total bliss!

I managed a little more on my evening walk - 3 miles - so that brings today's total to 11.25 aerobic miles and 629 calories burned. I deserved that turkey wing, lol, I walked for it!

18 more days to the big T day!

19 days to Thanksgiving...

Saturday, November 07, 2009

I was up today, aargh! Too much of my homemade breads yesterday but it's ok, just one day. Today I was back on track eating fruits and veggies!

I bought my turkeys today - yup, bought 2. I needed a bird under 12 lbs for the fryer but the best I could find was 12.06 and 12.59 so I bought both and will see if my friend can do the larger of the 2 birds. One was a butterball on sale for $.98 lb and the other was a cheaper brand for $.40 per pound over at Walmart! Wow!

19 days to Thanksgiving...

We still have no idea what we are doing for T-day. We just might be by ourselves but the hub hasn't talked to his folks yet to see what's going on. We hate to infringe on them cuz his mom's had health problems lately and we know they really shouldn't travel here to our house. We'll see.

ok, now I'm getting excited, too.
Our family tradition seems to be changing the last few years.
My mom died; my inlaws don't want to come out (don't expect but will gladly accept plates delivered); my oldest son moved far away and has a girl.
My younger son got married last year, as his new brides dad was dying (he just lasted through Christmas). Last Thanksgiving that son and his new bride came for dinner and then we went to her parents' house for dessert.
Now his widowed MIL want s us to come for dinner so we are in negotiations.
I really love to cook Thanksgiving dinner!
It's so complicated.

I love Thanksgiving but it isn't a big deal. I don't really overeat then. Christmas is another story. So I am planning my strategies early.

20 day countdown to Thanksgiving...

Friday, November 06, 2009

I was less than impressed with the "new" Ryan's Steakhouse. There was no fish and very few vegetables. So I actually left feeling "not satiated" which is funny at an all you can eat buffet.

The best things I can say about our meal was half price and I lost weight, lol.

The desserts really weren't much of a temptation for me - just another thing to be thankful for. And most items on the "salad bar" had mayonnaise in them. If you don't know what is on or in a food, you really can't say what you are eating.

However, I was able to find the nutritional values of all the foods when I returned home.

Nope, NO RYANS in Syracuse either. But that does not BOTHER
ME AT ALL. I'M a REAL STICK IN THE MUD to my FRIENDS when it
comes to EATING OUT. I'M VERY PICKY, and MOST RESTAURANT are
always a DISAPPOINTMENT to me. There are probably less than
15 restaurants that I have eaten in & at that I would ever go back again, and 5 of them are in Europe, 2 in Montreal,1 in Toronto & 2 in New York City. OOOPS, forgot 1 in Las Vegas,
& 1 in Denver.
Now are'nt glad we're not meeting for lunch. LOL
Have fun you all & God Bless.

I haven't been too impressed with out salad bar either, being vegetarian for the most part I had the option of pasta drenched in cheese or cake. All I could eat of it. You are looking on the bright side though which is better than I would be behaving. I tend to throw little fits when I'm hungry.

That's too bad they didn't have more veggies. The one I used to go to usually had quite a few and I stocked up on green beans (love em) and corn with small portions of mashed potatoes (I know not good but I rarely get to have mashed potatoes), some chicken. The desserts never appealed to me and of the ones I did taste they were bland. At least you didn't come out over stuffed as I'm sure most people do.
